Company presentation
Banking Circle is a next-generation provider of mission-critical financial services infrastructure leading the rise of a super-correspondent banking network. Banking Circle is a fully licensed bank able to deliver financial infrastructure at low cost, compliantly and securely. In times of globalization and digitalization, banks and payments businesses can now access real-time payments allowing them to seize market opportunities without having to commit to significant investment in their own internal infrastructure.
Banking Circle empowers financial institutions to support their customers’ international trading ambitions, without the need for multiple banking relationships, whilst reducing risk and the operational cost of transactions. Businesses that were previously financially excluded are now able to participate in the digital economy in a way which was not previously possible.
The organization aims to be a best-in-class employer where innovation and career development is going hand in hand. Banking Circle is characterized by a healthy mix of experienced people and development opportunities led by the newest technologies. Further, you will become a part of a greatly diverse department and team in terms of competencies and backgrounds. In addition, the organization’s culture is informal, international, and agile in terms of embracing and enhancing new creative ideas and thinking outside the box.
Introduction to the position
In the position as Data Architect, you will be a part of our growing Engineering Department where you will be joining a newly established section, where you will be reporting directly to the CTO.
You will be involved in different projects across the Engineering Department, where you will be collaborating closely with namely the Data Systems & Core Banking Engineering section as well as the Payments and Clearing section.
The position as Data Architect will take a new key position within the Banking Circle Engineering organization. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to guide the organization in how to translate the theoretical data domain into concrete solutions that the teams can work with.
There will be ample room for defining the specifics of the role yourself and you will be expected to drive initiatives independently and to provide proactive input to Engineering Management on initiatives that you see as valuable to bring Banking Circle forward.
You will be expected to take the lead in the projects you are responsible for and drive things forward independently. Most of your time will be dedicated towards the strategic decisions, while your colleagues from the different sections in the Engineering Department will be dedicated to focus on the hands-on/operational part of the projects.
Projects
As a Data Architect you are expected to drive initiatives like overseeing the next version of client facing reporting through Banking Circle’s API, ensuring data consistency from their Azure Data Bricks-based data platform all the way to their client-facing REST API, and defining and roll out a standardized serialization/deserialization setup from typed/structured data to JSON/XML over message bus.
Another concrete project you will be involved in relates to Banking Circle’s internal reporting where you will be expected to provide input to a simple migration path for the existing reports. Banking Circle currently uses Tableau and are migrating their reports into Power BI.
Additionally, you will be involved in another big project relating to Banking Circle’s new payment platform – CEPOS - where you will be responsible for continuously suggesting new best practices and solid principles to support the efficiency of the project.
Technical experience
