As Automation Test Specialist, you will drive excellence in the practice of automation testing, establishing coaching and learning and development approaches to help support people’s development. Furthermore, you will help develop the Guild of Automation Testing to be the best it can be by setting goals and continuously monitoring progress against them.
You will be a leading example of automation testing practice and will coach and guide the Squads to ensure the team applies automation testing principles appropriately at each stage of the iteration build cycle to meet agreed standards of quality.
As part of this, some of your key accountabilities will be to:
- Develop the Pandora Digital Hub TDD, BDD and automated testing strategy to implement across all delivery squads
- Be the subject matter expert on test driven development (TDD), behaviour driven development (BDD) and automated testing practices, and act as a role model for how to deliver automation testing
- Recommend and implement modifications to TDD, BDD and automated testing practices to enable the organisation to continually improve its agility and outcomes
- Support individual and collective development within Quality Assurance by training and coaching others in TDD, BDD and automated testing practices, techniques and culture
- Coach and mentor the team in best practice automation testing frameworks suitable for the Pandora Digital Hub

You can demonstrate pragmatic judgement and are able to balance risk and business value to reach decisions which are well informed and actionable. Adding to that, you have the ability to both lead, motivate, coach and influence teams and you respect individual’s views and contributes to a learning environment in which individuals are supported and encouraged to excel.
Furthermore, you have and can demonstrate:
- Experience from or degree within computer science, econometrics, mathematics or relevant equivalent field(s)
- Previous experience of Automation Test Leadership, or Head of Automation Testing capability / function, or similar role
- Developer background with knowledge of what good quality code looks like
- Knowledge of multiple TDD, BDD and automated testing practices and techniques, and ability to coach and develop people in using them to best effect
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in engaging and communicating with senior business-leaders and Technology Leadership
- Previous experience of managing and supporting teams, particularly in complex and challenging environments, e.g. multiple products, multiple locations, changing priorities etc.

You will be part of our Digital Development team who are responsible for delivering on our strategic ambition to be industry leaders in digital. We are a team who work closely together, help each other out and offer flexibility and freedom to allow you to focus on solving our customers’ problems. You will work closely with the Product Managers to understand functional requirements and acceptance criteria for their products, to understand what is required from testing to ensure the build of a quality product. Furthermore, you will work with the Director of Engineering, Engineering Managers, and the DevOps Manager to define and improve the continuous integration and delivery approach.
