Then join our CI/CD department and be part of an exciting technical journey in a global, high-tech company.About the positionYou work as a cloud automation architect within our CI/CD department in an architect team currently being established. The department already has an engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining CI/CD solutions. There will be a significant overlap in focus areas between the two groups, and you will work together closely.The department is part of the R&D division. The purpose and vision of the department are to enable all 3Shape R&D employees to ship production-ready software to our end-users through a fully automated delivery pipeline. We support around 400 engineers currently. We expect to grow this number significantly over the coming years.Your job comes with two areas of responsibility.The primary responsibility is to participate in an ongoing effort to improve processes, tools, and frameworks concerning development and operational maturity across R&D.You will work closely with the architect team in the CI/CD department, software architects across R&D, and our IT operations team. With these stakeholders, you will develop and maintain our applications monitoring and operations governance. In practice, this means that you will use the experience you gain through participating in various development projects to harness new insight and potential improvements for our governance. You will also help IT operations define and refine our alerting and monitoring strategy and tools to help achieve our business goals and collect relevant metrics in this regard.You do not have to be a professional writer, but you do need to have the ability to describe your hard-earned experience in writing so the rest of the organization can benefit from it. 3Shape has grown to a size where oral handover is no longer feasible as the only way to share and retain knowledge.The secondary area of responsibility is to participate in projects.You contribute to solutions and help ensure they live up to quality and supportability requirements. You show the way and write code to prove your ideas and how they work, but you also know when to withdraw and let the team finish and tidy up the project. This approach frees up your time to take on the following technical challenge or project.You also contribute to reusable cloud infrastructure packages that offer quality of life improvements for other dev teams, such as a package that provides scaffolding for using Pulumi for Infrastructure-as-Code and so on. Because of this, it is vital that have profound experience with software development and possibly operations. If you also have experience with one or more cloud providers, it's a home run.3Shape is a global company with branches in many countries, so you must master oral and written English.You should expect to travel to Ukraine twice a year. These trips typically last 3-4 business days.About you
  • You work as a software dev, software architect, or work with software operations.
  • You possess at least 8-10 years of experience within the IT business. Most likely, you've held various positions which allow you to put your work in perspective and cover the needs and wants of many and varied stakeholders.
  • You are ambitious and set lofty goals for yourself. You also realize that significant changes take time to implement. You already have experience with change management, or you would like to develop professionally in this area.
    • Technology StackWe primarily work with the following technologies:
  • Microsoft .NET. C# and Powershell Core.
  • CI/CD services. TeamCity, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, MSBuild, Artifaoctry, and OctupusDeploy.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code. Terraform, Pulumi and Ansible.
  • Cloud providers. Azure and a little bit of AWS.
  • Containerization. Docker.
  • Azure services. AKS, ACR, Azure Artifacts and so on.
