Your focus will be setting the direction for one or more software development team(s) and being accountable for the solution quality and value toward the business. The area and team(s) that you will be working with are software teams that are extending and maintaining the solutions enabling Information Management and Integrations in Milestone. This requires you to have a firm grasp on Data and Business Intelligence practices, use and overall technologies.
Stakeholder management is a critical part of the job, ensuring that needs coming from multiple departments are anchored, transparency is created and dialog with the key stakeholders in the organization is made.
In order to translate business needs to solution you will:
- Co-edit the justifications and needs description for initiatives (the why - Epics)
- Write the requirements and business success criteria for the deliveries out of the software development team (the “big” what – Features).
- Facilitate the breakdown into increments that can be delivered within sprints (the “value” what – User Story).
- This sets the direction for the team ensuring that the team can design, build, test and deliver the solution (the how - Tasks).
Maintaining a prioritized backlog based on business priorities and technical needs for the area is the center of your work, ensuring transparency toward the business and clarity towards the implementation team.
Qualifications and preferred skills:
You have a degree in Engineering or Computer Science with several year of experience from the IT industry and 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner working with agile methodologies building and delivering scalable products or services that enables the business to operate and evolve.
We also hope you will bring some of the following:
- Hand-on experience with data and business intelligence use and processes in a global company including and overall understanding of the technologies and architectures involved
- Deep passion for customer-driven design thinking and technology
- Humor is part of your DNA
- You are comfortable operating at different levels of detail and abstraction, and you speak business with IT and technology with the Business
- Excellent communication skills and English skills at high level both verbally and in writing
The department and team
Our purpose in Business Application Development is to deliver application changes and support to Business Systems, to ensure that application delivery capacity can scale and flexibly extend and reduce, to ensure that applications are built and changed with maintenance and operation in mind and that applications and processes around changing them are continuously refined and optimized.
For Information management our ambition is to enable data-driven decisions based on validated data, making it easy for all business units to create material for decisions based on a shared truth, in compliance with data regulations and company policies
We are a multinational group (11 different nationalities across 34 colleagues) in four major teams and part of an ever-growing organization covering a wide spectrum of business applications from our B2B sales portal, HR, ERP and CRM systems to our major externally facing websites and tools, Business Intelligence, Integration platforms and smaller internal systems
