We are currently looking for an experienced software developer to take a role as Lead Developer in a development team in our Command & Control (C2) organization.

The team and organization


In this role we are looking for a software Lead Developer to our T.react CIP team within our C2 organization in Lystrup. In Lystrup our main focus is air and/or ground based mission critical solutions, including the product Critical Infrastructure Protection (T.react CIP). T.react CIP gives customers a situational overview via cameras, radars and other sensors to be able to activate an appropriate countermeasure. We are also using AI for drone detection in the system and are looking into large development efforts in the drone detection area. The C2 organization counts around 80 highly engaged colleagues in total and is an area of great focus and importance in Terma.

The role and your most important tasks


As a software Lead Developer, you will be a central capacity in ensuring our best-in-class C2 systems. You will be overall responsible for the design and architecture within your application area in close cooperation with our SW architects and will be an important sparring partner for your fellow software developers in the team. Your tasks will thus be, but are not limited to:

  • Translation of customer needs and/or system requirements (in collaboration with System Engineers and/or Software Architects) into best-in-class software solutions following best-practice architecture and design principles
  • Design and implementation of solutions in new components as well as integrating with existing components on our platform
  • Ensure high quality solutions by the team through sparring and guidance of your fellow software developers, within aspects such as design patterns, reusability, testability etc.
  • Maintaining a deep understanding and overview of the software components within the team’s application area
  • Take part in verification and bug fixing in collaboration with the rest of the team, both at our internal test sites and occasionally at our customer’s installations
  • Ensure good (automated) test coverage of the team’s components
  • Collaborate with testers to ensure a thorough verification of the team’s deliveries

Your experience and education


You have a relevant education, i.e., a Bachelor or Master degree in software engineering, computer science, or similar plus at least 5-7 years of experience as a software developer.

Your primary programming language is Java. Experience with other object-oriented languages like C++ is a plus. Additionally, you can put a checkmark at most of the below:

  • Experience with design of software solutions through all the steps of requirements, architecture, design, implementation, automated test and verification
  • Experience with object-oriented design
  • Design patterns and SOLID design principles
  • Experience with parallel programming and proper thread handling/synchronization
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Trunk-based based development and Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Version control systems (git)
  • Code reviews

  • You are a team player, and you take pride in communicating actively and acting proactively towards your colleagues and stakeholders

  • Your profile allows you to navigate in an interdisciplinary environment, where solutions and deliverables are a result of an effective interaction between system and software development
  • You enjoy working in a complex and highly specialized environment
  • You can structure and communicate technical complex solutions clearly and precisely in writing, and you enjoy doing so
  • You are well articulated in writing and speaking, as a minimum in English, preferable also in Danish

Bear in mind that candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance by the Danish national security agency. This entails that candidates, as a minimum, have stayed within NATO/EU for the last 7 years only interrupted by short stays abroad and have citizenship from a country that is member of NATO.
