Odense SØ
Blue Ocean Robotics – a Robot Venture Factory in Odense, Denmark – develop and build mobile service robots within the health, hotel, construction and agriculture sector. For example the disinfection robot UVD Robots and the patient moving robot Multi-Tower. Blue Ocean Robotics supply all our venture companies, who are selling the service robots, with high quality robots on-time in a volume that is about to scale.
Blue Ocean Robotics has acquired all assets and IP licenses belonging to the Beam business from Suitable Technologies, Inc. based in Palo Alto, Silicon Valley. The acquisition is subject to final approval in the USA. Blue Ocean Robotics will then be developing and producing the Beam robots, and Beam Robots ApS will be doing marketing, sales, support and servicing of customers and resellers around the world.
Beam Robots Aps is now the world’s leading company in telepresence robots, and we have sold more than 1.000 Beams and has more than 20 resellers around the world. In total there are more than 2.500 customers worldwide, 7.500 Beams installed and more than 160.000 users of the robots.
The Beam robot is a remotely operated mobile robot enabling people to communicate via screens, cameras and microphones while at the same time enabling people to navigate and being mobile at remote locations. Such a type of robot is referred to as a “telepresence robot” as it enables the users to be present at remote locations while communicating with other people and being mobile at specific sites all over the world.
We are now looking for a Back End Developer with some years of experience, who can join us to start the exciting new journey of the next generation Beam Robots.
The Back-end Developer will create the logical back-end and core computational logic of the software stack in close cooperation with other specialised team members. The developer creates components and features that are indirectly accessed by a user through front-end applications for users, administrators and support teams.

Nice to have experience:
As a programmer, you appreciate well structured code, written with a strong mindset of good agile architecture principles. You have an opinion about what easy readable code means and what matters both when the code is initially written, but also when it needs to be maintained over time. Your vocabulary spans both relevant technologies, but also architecture related terms like the SOLID principles and Clean Code as defined by Robert C. Martin.
As a person you are self propelled, getting-things-done oriented, systematic, analytical but yet pragmatic, and you are not afraid of challenging targets and KPIs. You are data focussed and documentation and digitally oriented with a strong ability to manage everyday challenges in a robot venture factory, which is one of a kind in the world.
The candidate will work in our HQ in Odense with colleagues in Copenhagen and Barcelona.
What we offer.
In Blue Ocean Robotics we develop and commercialize robots. We are a so-called Robot Venture Factory, and are a unique one of a kind. The development of our robots is based on our RoBi-X model, where Blue Ocean Robotics has the management of robot technology and the design of robots in collaboration with strong partners in the market.
In October 2018 the Danish venture capital fund “Nordic Eye Venture Capital” invested more than €13 million in the international scaling of Blue Ocean Robotics. Therefore we have an extremely positive and interesting journey in front of us, which we are very excited about.
We have a solid long-term goal, we believe in ourselves, we have a strong will to achieve success, we are profitable and we have great faith in our own abilities. We get recognition and are positively confirmed in the market and from our partners. We have a solid value proposition to offer - both for our partners, our partners' customers, our employees and for our role in society at all - and of course for our owners.
In Blue Ocean Robotics we all want to develop the best and most successful robots for the global market. We are fast-paced, dynamic and have a flexible organization. We have monthly social events, Warrant Program for all full time employees, lunch arrangements, spouse network, Blue Ocean Robotics Academy, bicycle arrangements, language school, health insurance and of course PC and mobile phone are available. We also offer Outplacement program for spouses.
We respect each other and our differences. We take pride in integrating international colleagues in cooperation with Odense Robotics and International Community Odense.
