Are you passionate about bringing your talent into play in one of BEC's most important strategic tech initiatives? And would you like to work with the vocal point for BEC's and the bank's technological development over the next several years? If so, you should use your experience in a well-established full-service IT house and be part of one of the most exciting development journeys within Platforms & Architecture for the Danish financial sector. In collaboration with several customers, BEC is developing a platform, based on Kafka, which will support the specific business needs of each bank.
For BEC, we are looking for an experienced and innovative Kafka DevOps engineer to contribute to the development and integration tasks on the Kafka platform. You will be part of a SAFe team responsible for implementing a strategic integration platform to ensure that the platform is continuously being expanded with new capabilities to support business needs. The technology and methods are brand new in BEC, allowing you to help design and shape the platform from the beginning.
Help build an advanced customer platform
As a developer you will challenge and be challenged by your colleagues in creating the new event streaming platform based on Kafka that will ensure the future success of BEC’s customers. We expect you to have a solid toolbox with some good results with Kafka application development.
Your primary tasks will be designing, implementing, and maturing our Kafka-based integration platform. You will develop tools and procedures for monitoring, logging, and deployment. As a natural part of your work, you will need to prepare documentation for the use of Kafka, while supporting the rest of the organization in using the platform.
We use Domain Driven Design (DDD) for modeling, which is why you will also work closely with other development teams to implement this method in their work.
You will work with a modern toolset, including technologies, methods and principles, such as:
Your profile
We imagine that you are trained and educated as an IT/software engineer or similar. We expect that you will have at least 3-5 years of experience with Kafka and Java. You may have worked with or used technologies such as K8s and OpenShift. You probably already have experience working in agile development teams. It is a plus if you have experience from the financial sector, telecom, pharma, or from a significant consultancy; however, this is not a requirement.
As a person, you are passionate about creating innovative and stable IT solutions. You think about scalability and operational stability. You will ensure that BEC, through extensions and configurations, can support the financial sector's business processes and what is technically possible. Furthermore, you are service-minded and accustomed to working with customers, partners, and colleagues. The ability to prioritize and meet deadlines related to ongoing deliveries and operations is an essential qualification for the role. You work well, independently and as part of a team, as well as having an analytical and structured approach to your work. You are fluent in English in writing and speaking and preferably in Danish as well.
A special workplace
You are offered an attractive job in a dynamic organization. The tone is informal, and you will work among professionals and quality-conscious colleagues in a team that needs your specific professional skills. BEC attach great importance to knowledge sharing and learning, and to have fun while working. The industry, BEC, and this technology are evolving rapidly, so there will automatically be varying and challenging tasks that provide excellent opportunities for skills development. BEC ensures that you get a varied and challenging job. BEC also has a well-functioning staff association with an exciting selection of social gatherings and activities where, as an employee, you can network with each other outside the usual framework.
Can you see yourself with us?
If the above has caught your interest, please send us your resume and application no later than February 20, 2020. If you have any questions about the position, do not hesitate to contact Department Manager Peter Ramsby on +45 6156 7045.
