DTU Wind and Energy Systems is a mission driven university department which creates value for society through the integration of research with education, innovation and research-based consultancy within key fields in the development and use of wind energy.

Our data and models are used in Danish and international research projects and in consultancy projects with the industry. Your main tasks will be:
  • Design and development of Python and GAMS based software, together with the researches working on wind energy and energy system topics
  • Help managing and later manage software projects via GitLab
  • Work in research and consultancy projects along with the team, focusing on data handling and software support and execution in UNIX server environment

Our expectations of you
We expect the candidate to have strong skills in Python and at least moderate skills in GAMS, is a good team player, and has good communication skills (fluent in English both oral and written). Candidates with programming backgrounds are preferred. Additionally, a strong interest in renewable energy and science is a plus.

In particular we are looking for someone with the following technical skills:
  • Experience designing and developing python and GAMS software
    • Preferably with knowledge of python's data handling and scientific packages, including Pandas and XArray
    • Experience with Balmorel is a plus

  • Experience with collaborative software development via GitLab

Additionally, the following skills would be desirable:
  • Knowledge of time series data handling, visualisation, and analysis
  • Handling of large datasets
  • Spatial data handling and visualisation
  • General knowledge of wind energy and energy systems

What we offer in return
We offer an interesting and exciting job in an international and welcoming environment with a good work life balance, while contributing to the green transition to stop global warming. You will be part of a dynamic and revolutionary team developing next generation software, models, and solutions at DTU Wind Energy. We place emphasis on a high level of satisfaction and well-being among our staff, so work life balance and working environment is an integral part of our value. We offer great flexibility in the position, in addition to the Denmark typical 5+1 weeks of holidays, a day off for the first sick-day of a child, generous parental leave, and generally good child care options. In the area of technical and natural sciences, DTU is one of the leading research and education institutions in Europe.
