With a direct reference to our Team Lead, you will become a part of our Technology function which is responsible for developing our high-tech metering solutions for energy utilities worldwide. More specifically, you will be a part of the R&D department consisting of more than 20 tech-savvy and driven colleagues who are working together across domains, hardware, software and mechanical engineering, to develop our electricity meters. The team is characterized by an informal tone which stems from our strong social bond, we have an open dialogue and a strong degree of teamwork.
A job with focus on developing the future of electricity meters
In the position as Embedded Software Developer, you will get a key role in developing our market leading electricity meters, to drive the technology even further and take solutions to the next level. Together with the team, you will design choices and the technical solutions by taking part in the complete development process, from requirement specification to the final product launch. We know that unitedly, we create the best solutions, which is why you will work in close collaboration with experts across the organization.

Personality matters
We are looking for a passionate Embedded Software Developer, who has a flair for innovative thinking. There are many entry points to this position. Whether you have a few years of experience or are newly graduated is not crucial. What is important is that you are driven by a genuine interest in software development with a theoretical understanding, practical approach, and a focus on the final product. We imagine that you have an educational background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar. It is a requirement that you have experience programming with C for embedded devices. Knowledge of Python will be considered an advantage.
As a person, you are curious by nature, which helps you acquire new knowledge and ask open questions when you explore new technologies or solutions. You get energy from testing new ways of working and see failing as an opportunity to learn and move further towards new developments. You value teamwork, where co-development and using each other’s strengths is a natural part of your approach, and you are often the one that colleagues seek for sparring. This is furthermore a strength that allows you to easily and effectively enter different projects and support them to completion.
It is a requirement that you both speak and write Danish and English fluently.

More specifically, you will be:
- Developing firmware for the next generation of smart meters with a focus on for example security and theft prevention, and smart metering protocols
- Ensuring compatibility with Kamstrup’s own Head End System (HES) and other 3rd party systems, as well as for extension modules for add-on functionality
- Working to implement RTOS framework, as well as multi-thread applications
- Automating product tests in Python and implementation of CD/CI pipelines to ensure optimal development and testing of new functionalities
