Lead Developer for embedded SW verification framework

In your new position at Demant/Oticon, you will take the lead of the 2-person verification team, which is an essential part of the Chipset Firmware Platform Group consisting of 30 highly skilled colleagues. The atmosphere is informal and humorous but at the same time highly ambitious.
We deliver the lowest embedded SW layer of a highly advanced low-power audio-enabled device, based on a highly specialized custom chipset, living up to medical device standards. This requires extensive automated stress testing involving loads of hardware. This is where the verification team steps in.
Make it easy to ensure firmware quality
You will lead the development, maintenance and use of our Java-based verification framework. The framework integrates a wide variety of HW to allow us to run low-level tests on target in a CI flow with both pre- and post-commit tests and extended nightly runs. This can be advanced power supplies and battery simulators for Battery/power management; smartphones, Bluetooth LE dongles and sound cards for connectivity tests and much more.
Your will play a driving role in engaging the developer teams in ensuring aligned usage of the framework across all teams and securing timely preparation for upcoming needs.
The impact of your work is huge as the proprietary chipset you help developing is used in all Oticon hearing aids. In highlights the expectations to you will be:
- Set direction and develop the verification framework with focus on:
- (a) easy to write test with a high level of reuse of common functionality, (b) easy HW integration and control and (c) CI integration
- Monitor and take action on test instabilities caused by the verification framework or surrounding processes (e.g. build flow)
- Expand our capabilities with hardware (remote controlled smartphones, audio sources, switches, power supplies, signal generators, etc.)
Your competencies
We are looking for an experienced developer with a relevant degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering. The following competencies are required for the position:
- Experience with verification frameworks used in CI
- Experience with HW automation in CI-like conditions
- Expertise in Java and experience with Python
- TeamCity or other CI management systems
- Revision control systems and review tools
If you have experience with embedded SW tool chains, Linux, Bash and C, this will be an advantage.
