Do you appreciate working with advanced technical solutions and have experience with Bluetooth low energy development? Then we have a unique opportunity for you, involving participation in the world leading open source connected-RTOS Zephyr project.
Cutting edge Bluetooth LE development for a resource constrained platform
In your new position at Demant/Oticon, you will be part of the Connectivity & Embedded Software Group consisting of 23 highly skilled colleagues. The atmosphere is informal and humorous but at the same time highly ambitious.
Our team is involved in all phases of product development. All the way from IC specification, through early wakeup, product development and into the market. This means that our work is very diverse both with respect to pace and content. Depending on the phase of the project, we work in simulations, FPGAs or on the actual chipset. Since our chipsets are internally developed our delivery starts with the boot ROM and extends all the way up to the application layer.
Our goal is to deliver the most advanced low-power, connected, audio-enabled device, living up to medical device standards. This means that you will be required to design safe C code that provides advanced functionality with real-time guarantees for the radio- and audio systems while balancing memory consumption, cycles and power efficiency. The embedded software platform includes hardware drivers, RTOS, power management, file system, communication stacks, firmware update functionality, security, two wireless audio systems and much more.
You will join our Connectivity scrum team, which is responsible for the development of our Bluetooth LE-Audio and audio path. This involves developing application software utilizing the Zephyr OS and integrating that solution in our proprietary platform. You will work closely with the team developing the host and controller and you will take a very essential part in the system hardening and in-market activities.

- Design, develop, test and release Bluetooth LE applications.
- Contribute to the definition and development of our internally developed IC and third-party components.
- Master the challenge of developing embedded software on a custom IC while it is under development.
Your expertise – Embedded software development with Bluetooth LE focus
We expect you to hold a relevant degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering and have experience with development of low-level embedded systems, specifically within the following areas:
- Low-level embedded programming in C
- Bluetooth LE experience (or similar wireless protocols)
- Understanding of real-time operating systems and real-time handling of HW
- Programming for memory/power/time constrained systems
- Linux and scripting
It is beneficial if you have knowledge about ARM architectures.
