Responsibilities (what you will do)
- Lead and own the development an enterprise-grade scalable web application using the latest Python and Django stack
- Own the platform architecture and continuously seek ways to optimize it, research and select tools to support the goals of the project
- Build our CI/CD architecture and define the processes to support the organization reaching continuous deployment.
- Lead junior colleagues and act as a mentor, participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing
- Perform regular code reviews, with the goal of code quality, good design and approach along with pushing engineers to improve and evolve.
- Work closely with our Data Science team and implement services in the platform
- Understand the business requirements beyond the specifications and keep the customer in mind
- Ensure that software designs follow best-practices and architectural guidelines
- Own scalability/performance/stability - milliseconds are important
Profile
- 3-5 years of practical experience in Python and Django building enterprise web products
- 3+ years of experience with Linux
- 3+ years of experience with relational and NOSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Deep understanding of the HTTP protocol, web application performance and scalability
- Expertise in agile methodologies; comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery
- Experience working with Docker
- Experience deploying apps in HEROKU
- Experience working in a CI/CD driven organization
- Experience creating RESTful APIs and microservices
- Be able to quickly learn new tools and not be afraid to use them
Nice to have (Senior)
Any experience with the tools or methodologies listed below that you might interact with, will be considered a plus:
- Celery or other queue management systems
- Deploying and optimizing applications in PaaS environment
- React, JavaScript, Typescript or CSS
- Experience or interest in Serverless Architecture (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Code Run)
