The team and organization
We are looking for a software engineer to take on a specialized role in a vital development team in our software division in Søborg. In Command & Control (C2) we are responsible for our Naval systems, providing situational awareness for surveillance, maritime safety, and mission critical defense.

You will find your colleagues to be open, smiling, and welcoming, with a lot of knowledge they gladly share. You will be in a growing team of 8 passionate people in the C2 organization of 80+ highly engaged colleagues, in an area of great focus and importance in Terma. You will be part of a team which takes pride in looking out for each other and collaborating on finding the best solutions, while working in stable, interdisciplinary, and self-managed teams based on agile principles.

Your most important tasks
As a software engineer, you will be a key capacity in ensuring our software systems. You will take ownership in design and implementation within your area and be an important sparring partner for your colleagues in and outside the team.

Your primary tasks will be:

  • Develop and maintain our platform
  • Take part in verification and bug fixing with testers and system engineers, both at our internal test sites and at our customer’s ships.
  • Help ensuring good (automated) test coverage of the team’s components and collaborate within teams to ensure a thorough verification of our deliveries.
  • Design and implementation of new components, as well as maintaining a sound understanding and overview of the software components.


Your experience and education
You have a relevant education, perhaps a master’s degree in software engineering, or similar, plus some experience as a software engineer.

Your primary language is Java, and experience with other object-oriented languages is a plus.

It would also be a plus if you have:

  • Experience with design of software solutions through all the steps of requirements, architectural design, implementation, and verification.
  • Experience with Design Patterns, SOLID design principles
  • Experience with parallel programming and proper thread handling/synchronization.
  • Practiced code reviews and knowledge sharing with fellow engineers.
  • Version control systems (GIT), trunk-based development and CI/CD and experience with Jenkins and Gerrit
  • Experience with agile principles and experience with Jira and Confluenc
