Take part in implementing the new IT Strategy
"Platform Strategy & Architecture" is a newly established department with an ambition to develop the vision and architecture of SDC's future banking platform. SDC is already crowded with exceptionally inspiring and talented tech wizards and architects – so value adding collaboration is a guarantee, should you take this role as Enterprise Architect.
This is how a week in your new job could look like:
Monday – you and Niels, one of the Business Area Managers, visit a customer in Jutland. The customer wants to discuss a brilliant idea for a change to SDC's platform. Interesting – maybe this could benefit all customers.
Tuesday – after digesting the input from Monday’s meeting, you talk the idea through with the domain architect John and realize that it would have negative consequences for the platform stability as well as the economy.
Wednesday – engaged in a dialogue with a new Fintech company who has a groundbreaking approach to the variables on which a bank loan is accepted or rejected. After the meeting, together with Morten, who is PO on the Open Banking project, and Henrik, who is head of the Core banking area in SDC, you agree to try to define an MVP on this service.
Thursday - facilitating a full-day workshop with a business area, whose business services did not quite measure up to the reality of neither customers nor developers. With inspiration from BIAN (a banking service reference model) you help define a new version of the service that both customer and development team clearly understand.
Friday – time to reflect on the week just passed with your Enterprise Architect colleagues. The atmosphere is good, relaxed and with some good loving jokes. Then updating the Domain and Service landscape with the new services and soon weekend is calling.
The responsibility of an Enterprise Architect - in short
Define strategic and architectural opportunities and threats and - in collaboration with SDC’s management – define the level of ambition.
The job is all about drawing, facilitating, and improving the architecture and roadmap for the SDC Platform and ensure that it is coordinated across SDC and with external parties (customers, suppliers, partners, authorities, etc.), In addition, you will support the prioritization of the portfolio, the projects and define and optimize development processes from pre-idea to realized and supported services.
Fintech experience is king! – as is the right personality
You are business value driven, have a strong connection to technology and you always strive to see the big picture. You think in a customer-oriented way, solve problems cooperatively and is known for being a visionary with your “feet” on the ground and often inspire your colleagues.
To do this you have to be a real team player and a strong communicator.
Ideally, you have experience as an enterprise architect and have a proven track record working on an enterprise level as well as in projects.
You can develop abstract concepts and target states and break these down into concrete work packages.
You are good at building trusting relationships with customers & colleagues at all levels and actively ensure the flow of information across departmental and divisional boundaries.
We appreciate experience with:
And if you have experienece with the Fintech sector, Digital Channels (DC) and/or Payments & Cards then this will just be seen as an desired bonus, but not a requirement.
SDC is a great place to work
As an employee, you will be motivated by a changeable, challenging daily environment where you will enjoy room to grow and make your mark, both in your own sphere and in the ongoing development of SDC.
You get flexible working conditions, pension scheme and health & dental insurance. You also get a 6th holiday week, 5 extra days off, increased holiday compensation, etc.

About SDC
It all started back in 1963, when a series of small savings banks went hand in hand with a dream of economies of scale and electronic bookkeeping. That dream still drives us. Today, we are 100+ both small and large banks from all over the Nordic region, who are part of the community, because shared solutions make us stronger.
We are over 700 colleagues in Ballerup and Warsaw, who work together every day to deliver a good banking experience to the users of 100+ Scandinavian banks. Many of our solutions are developed jointly for all customers - some for a small group. Common to them is that we want to maximize the customers’ benefit from the solutions and minimize the risk of not meeting the customers' needs.
The future demands more of SDC. The banks are working to adapt to the needs of the market, at the same time they are being met with increasing demands for regulation and efficiency. SDC works hard to be at the forefront of the customers’ needs and continue to be the preferred provider of solutions to Scandinavian banks.
SDCs mission is to offer small and medium sized Nordic banks efficient, user-friendly and open systems via a balanced mix between self-development and collaboration with the best partners in the market.
