Job Description
Danfoss Cooling is looking for a Software Architect – Embedded Linux, who is an expert in embedded Linux architecture and able to select the right software components for our needs. You have the skills to adapt the broad support package to our different controllers, and you enjoy being part of a DevOps culture and contributing to product development with focus on stability, robustness and scalability.
In this role, you will become part of a global team where you get every opportunity to influence your own work situation and have an impact on our innovative and state-of-the-art operating systems and solutions. The position is located in Nordborg, Denmark and you will be working together with colleagues in US, India and Italy.
Job Responsibilities
As an Software Architect, you will provide architectural steering and support, ensuring architectural conformance and efficient delivery of solutions. With your strong business understanding and in-depth knowledge of solution architecture, you will have an important role in driving, directing and aligning the embedded software architectural design across the entire business area. Your main tasks will be to:
Background & Skills
You have solid knowledge within system architecture in software/hardware, and preferable experience in collaboration with external design houses. You possess excellent coding skills in C/C++/C# and experience in developing and/or debugging communication drivers for industrial communication protocols like USB, TCP/IP and Modbus. Maybe you hold a Master’s degree in computer science or a related field. If you have knowledge about Linux frameworks and experience working with bootloaders and multiprocessor/multicore systems, it will be an advantage. You have more than 5 years’ experience with Linux in embedded electronics.
You have solid analytical abilities and a positive and open attitude, and you enjoy cooperating across borders and cultures in an organization, where we all help each other. Furthermore, you are excited about working in a multicultural environment, and you are enthusiastic, and results driven. You come with a natural talent for translating business requirements into a scalable, resilient and secure architecture. Moreover, you can communicate both technical and business matters in a clear and concise language. You are able to build relations, see opportunities rather than problems, combined with a just-do-it attitude. Finally, you are proficient in English - verbally as well as written.

- Define optimized ARM based MPU/MCU multicore system architectures.
- Design, code and integrate software for an embedded Linux target.
- Cooperate with external partners – consultants, customers, IT departments.
- Customize, deployment and maintenance of our Linux distribution on different hardware platforms.
- Interact with Linux kernel, Yocto framework, and integrate new software components.
- Improve and maintain existing software components.
- Ensure security in products.
- Perform test, verification and validation of the products developed.
- Assist with the hardware design surrounding the processor.
- Ensure a high level of quality in the products.
