The position
In the role of GMP Material Scientist your primary tasks will include:
  • Having the scientific responsibility for all critical materials (Excipients, CMO materials, Process Aids and Single Use System) used for Novo Nordisk production
  • Ensuring the control strategy for the materials by assessing the manufacture and handling of the material that could affect its use in Novo Nordisk
  • Active scientific evaluation of critical cases
  • Handling urgent issues with the materials with high impact for the use of the materials
  • Competent representation of our team in technical and scientific discussions in projects across the organisation
  • You will join a diverse team with different educational backgrounds within natural sciences. As a team member, you will take up a lot of responsibility and work determined on your own task with the necessary support from the team to develop and improve your own capabilities. The position will be based in Bagsværd, Denmark. Qualifications
    To be successful in this role, it is an advantage that:
  • You hold, as a minimum, a master’s degree in science (e.g., chemistry, pharmacy, engineering), or another relevant field within the natural sciences.
  • You have experience with handling and control of raw materials and with good manufacturing practice (GMP)
  • You have strong technical and analytical skills and can use those actively
  • You are action-oriented and can get things done
  • As a person it motivates you to cooperate with colleagues and stakeholders across functions and departments. You find solutions that are robust and will ensure the correct quality level and seek improvements that benefit on the long term as well as solving short term problems. You take ownership of your assignment, and you are result-oriented and take pride in delivering on your milestones. You motivate your colleagues with a positive, forthcoming attitude and take active part in decisions. About the department
    You will join our department Material Manufacturing Development in Product Supply, Sourcing Operations. We consist of 90 employees organised in six teams – this position is in the Excipient Team. In the Department, we are responsible for development, implementation and management of complex materials (raw materials, excipients, Primary Packaging materials etc.) from use in development to production, and we maintain documentation on existing materials. We cooperate extensively with a broad variety of functions, including CMC, QC laboratories, QA, inbound supply, warehouse, various Novo Nordisk production sites and a range of external suppliers and contract manufactures (CMOs).
