About the department Devices & Delivery Solutions has a long and outstanding track-record of developing the best, most innovative, and widely used injection devices in the world. In the development of medical devices, we ensure that user insights and innovation go hand in hand with a strong quality mindset. Testing & Verification plays an important role in the medical device and primary packaging development process, as we deliver specialised exploratory testing and design verifications. It is our responsibility to specify, develop, purchase, and validate new test equipment to support and conduct verification testing of medical devices. The Platform Testing & New Technologies team is responsible for defining testing approaches for our new device platforms, for specifying and qualifying new test equipment, development and validation of test methods. The team is involved in device development projects from early on and is responsible for developing methods that can also support the commercial production QC test. If you join our department, you will get 55 passionate colleagues with different backgrounds, including laboratory technicians, engineers, and specialists. The position You will be responsible for setting the direction, motivating, and cultivating high performance and engagement through empowerment of the team. You will ensure that the skills and capabilities of the team are up to date and aligned with the expectations and requirements from authorities and the organization. Your main responsibilities: Ensuring effective timely project deliverable and compliance Proactively build new capabilities and technologies to ensure support to our innovation projects Leading the team in process improvements and challenge the status quo Engaging, motivating, and developing your team, leading by example, and building trust Managing stakeholders internally and externally We work in an environment with increasing regulatory requirements and complexity – so one of your primary tasks as senior manager will be to enable your team to create simplicity in the processes and deliverables. Qualifications We are looking for an experienced leader with 3 years of management experience and a technical understanding, and a proven track record of delivering results. Previous experience in development of medical devices or manufacturing of devices, and experience with verification and validation is an advantage. You are proactive and innovative, and with a strong focus on simplicity and a lean mindset to drive continuous improvements. We expect that you have a strong quality mindset and the ability to structure and plan the work of the team, as well as your own work so you can maintain the overview, prioritise, and engage your stakeholders in peak periods. You must thrive in working in a fast-pace environment where you are responsible for setting the direction for strategically important projects and for communicating the priorities to ensure alignment and motivation. Lastly we expect you to be empathetic and a team player who focuses on building people and capabilities, and who contributes to strengthening our leadership team.
