Consultancy in Paediatrics combined with a clinical professorship in Paediatrics with special focus on Obesity
A clinical position as consultant of Paediatrics at the Department of Paedicatrics at Holbæk Hospital is open for appointment from as soon as possible.
The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Paediatrics with special focus on Obesity at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
With this new position the Department of Paediatrics, Holbæk Hospital wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Organisation
The department has seven consultants, four staff physicians, 1-3 senior residents participating in specializing education, and 8-9 junior residents. Consultants and staff physicians take part in a 10-shifted “on call” function. When on call, the doctor has a 24-hour shift, starting with a regular day-shift followed by a an “on call” night function from home.

Qualifications
Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Paediatrics.
Conditions
In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Holbæk Hospital.
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of Paediatrics, Holbæk Hospital. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full time secretary position from the department of Paediatrics, Holbæk Hospital. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the department of Paediatrics, Holbæk Hospital.

The Department of Paediatrics consists of:
- The medical sub-specialities neonatology, asthma and pulmonary diseases, nephrourology, neurology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, endocrinology, incl. diabetes and pump-treatment, and obesity.
- A department for children and adolescents up to 20 years old with 25 bed capacities – about 4500 enclosed yearly.
- An emergency section for children open 24-hours a day with four observation capacities.
- A neonatal section with 10 bed capacities, 4-6 bed capacities for the mothers, and 4 parental ward rooms – around 400 enclosed yearly.
- An outpatient clinic with around 13000 ambulatory visits yearly.
Research and teaching
Besides the clinical functions, the department is responsible for
- Teaching of younger medical doctors and students.
- Multiple research units – currently 6 PhD-students are employed, and more are in the start-up phase.
