As a Program Director, you will play a critical role in building our state-of-the-art FounData program FounData, ensuring it drives towards and solves for business outcomes. You'll work alongside top talent in the industry and make a significant impact on the way we develop new medicines, improve quality, and create value for Novo Nordisk Development and Novo Nordisk at large.
The position The FounData program is a new R&D data insights initiative designed to enhance data storage, curation/handling, analysis, and visualizations relevant to the entire organization. This initiative is set to revolutionize the way we use data in decision-making by enabling data availability from a one-stop clinical data shop. To achieve this, we require robust data pipelines and data models across various data modalities. The program is anchored within Data Science in the Development organization in Novo Nordisk (NN), and we aim to create a solution that spans the value chain. As a Program Director, you will play a vital role in the setting up and running cross-functional teams within the FounData program. Your responsibilities will be multifold, including: Co-create the vision and strategic direction for FounData
Engage business stakeholders to ensure awareness of FounData activities
Drive senior stakeholder buy-in for FounData, including funding asks, CEO & CEO-1 level endorsement and broad business support
Set up team, including recruitment of roles and support with onboarding
Drive executional rigour, manage timelines, project delivery and budget
Manage and mentor team members within Product & Platform teams to ensure professional development
Pressure-test materials and progress generated by Product & Platform teams
Manage interdependencies between teams, as well as with other parts of the organization, e.g., DM&A, DD&IT
Anticipate programmatic risks for FounData, and work to mitigate them
Coordinate the team with operational excellence
Help to create a positive team culture
Qualifications Several years of experience in a Program Director role, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
Strong track record in thorough planning, managing and coordinating required
Creative, innovative, ‘can-do’ and pragmatic attitude to management
Understanding of agile ways of working and building programs from PoC /MVP phase through to scale
Experience with setting up and/or managing data, analytics and digital technologies is a plus
Experience managing teams of 10+ people
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong ability to work cross-functionally
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Expertise with clinical data and its secondary uses across research & early development, development, Biostats / data science, commercial, is a plus
