As a Scientific Architect, you will play a critical role in building our state-of-the-art data insights platform, FounData, and developing outcomes and solutions that will transform the way we operate. You'll work alongside top talent in the industry and make a significant impact on the way we develop new medicines, improve quality, and create value for Novo Nordisk Development and Novo Nordisk at large.
The position The FounData program is a new R&D data insights initiative designed to enhance data storage, curation/handling, analysis, and visualizations relevant to the entire organization. This initiative is set to revolutionize the way we use data in decision-making by enabling data availability from a one-stop clinical data shop. To achieve this, we require robust data pipelines and data models across various data modalities. The program is anchored within Data Science in the Development organization in Novo Nordisk (NN), and we aim to create a solution that spans the value chain. As a Scientific Architect (Lead IT Architect), you will take over the technical ownership of the FounData platform and architecture. Your primary responsibility will be to: Drive technical ownership of a cloud-based data platform, including proactive development of technical design and roadmap
Lead multiple engineering teams, providing steering and vision
Represent FounData from technical standpoint in leadership meetings and with senior business stakeholders
Understand the broader vision and business objectives, and their translation into concrete technical requirements
Define best practices and architectural principles in line with the broader business strategy and support driving initiatives and projects from concept to adoption
Ensure that data platform is scalable, secure, and compliant with all applicable regulations and standards
Qualifications 10+ years of experience in IT architecture design and development and a track record in a technical leadership role
Experience with cloud-based technologies and architecture (e.g., AWS)
Strong general background and technical skills in enterprise architecture
In-depth understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data management principles
Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, graph databases)
Experience in designing scalable data solutions across different data modalities is a plus
Understanding of agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices
Experience managing multiple teams of 5+ people
Excellent collaboration and communication skills as well as experience working in an agile setup (e.g., Scrum)
Strong problem solving and attention to detail
Expertise in clinical data standards, either in a real-world data setting, clinical trial data standards and similar
