Global Procurement Business Services Real Estate & FM, Consultancy & Insurance
Global Procurement is responsible for managing Vestas’ spend with external suppliers world-wide. Business Services is a department responsible for all non-product related purchases. The department is composed by Category Managers with global responsibility and Regional Purchasing Managers working on regional base (AME, ASP, CHI, MED, NCE), with procurement responsibility for Consultancy, Tax Advisory, Insurance, HR Services & Temporary Labour, Travel, Fleet (Company Cars & Services Vehicles), Engineering Services, Real Estate & Security.
Business Services has been working intensively to secure best practice implementation in all categories and the most innovative solutions in the market of Indirect. We are proud of the work done in terms of savings and contribution to the business, and from this year also proud of the unit cost measuring and related KPIs. Thanks to this innovation it is possible to steer complex category decisions at regional and global scale. How much does it cost one hour of consultancy in a specific field? One kilometer driven for a company car? One night at hotel for business travel? Those are simple examples of the Business Intelligence that Indirect area can provide, serve and act on!
We are looking for you who are a talented Category Manager, who want to move your career to the next step and strongly develop your professional skills working in a multicultural global environment.
You will join a team located in Aarhus (DK) and Porto (PT), and you will have collaboration on common activities, but not on common span. The role is highly independent and comes with great responsibility, however you will refer to and be in close dialogue with the Director of the department by having one-to-one meetings twice a week.

Responsibilities
As Category Manager in the department, you will have global responsibility for the following categories:
- Real Estate & Facility Management
- Consultancy
- Tax Advisory & Tax Compliance
- Insurance & Legal
Together with category members and major stakeholders, you are to:
- Create, lead and implement the category strategy
- Lead supplier qualification
- Select and evaluate these
- Manage the vendor portfolio within their remit
- Negotiate vendor contracts in cooperation with Legal, internal customer and global sourcing departments
- Handle both the commercial and the professional relationship for all suppliers of the categories
Essential tasks will be to:
- Gather necessary technical and commercial information from internal stakeholders necessary to prepare Request for Quotations (RFQs)
- Execute risk assessments of suppliers, using the standard risk tools
- Report to internal stakeholders and to Global Sourcing management at key stages in the process confirming how items are being sourced within Vestas
- Participate in the selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting with suppliers
- Identify, investigate and implement systematic cost savings and inventory reduction
- Ensure that suppliers under your remit are properly maintained in relevant systems, follow up with suppliers and internal stakeholders on missing information and communicate changes in technical requirements to each supplier
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance to global strategy and to ensure any new pricing structures are being billed correctly to Vestas
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience from procurement, preferably at specialist/manager level
- Experience with indirect procurement from the categories mentioned (e.g. professional services, Real Estate / Facility Management) is clearly an advantage
- Hold an academic degree in Business Administration or equally relevant
- Strategic Sourcing and Category Management experience from relevant industry
- Have demonstrated clear savings in a comparable position with examples as verification
- Financial understanding and good IT knowledge
- You are fluent in English, written and verbally. Danish is not a requirement and we welcome international candidates

- Strong skills in negotiation, supplier relationship management and project management
- Strong interpersonal skills and highly development-oriented customer mindset
- The ability to challenge the status quo and speak with conviction to the challenges we must overcome in the category to keep Vestas profitable and Nr. 1 in the market
- You communicate and sell your ideas effectively and can work cooperatively with various stakeholders, colleagues, and management
- Structured, systematic and good understanding of business processes
- You are self-motivating, extremely result oriented, always raising the bar for yourself and encouraging your peers to follow, and you have a strong cross functional understanding.
