Global Procurement Powertrain, Nacelles & Towers Nacelle Load & Enclosure Weldments & Covers
Vestas Global Procurement is responsible for all procurement activities within Vestas, including leading cross functional category teams, negotiations and contract management, development of end-2-end cost out initiatives, category strategy development and supplier relationship management.
This position is related to the Nacelle and Hub area and more specifically managing the Weldments and Covers Category, including all large steel structures, sheet metal items, Covers etc. The team consist of five employees located in Denmark, China and India whereby the functional leadership rest within the Purchase Manager.
Responsibilities
You will take over a commodity with a high degree of complexity in the sense that you will be managing everything from core strategic components and suppliers to a large supply base delivering low spend, high mix items. The commodity has a spend of +250 mEUR and more than 150 suppliers and 3000 items. Your everyday activities will be characterised by operating in a high paced environment and balancing the leadership role of the team while at the same time setting the commodity strategies as well as strategic direction for the team. - Develop the strategies within the core areas of Weldments and Covers
- Provide clear leadership and support personal and professional development for the purchasers in the team
- Work actively to reduce the complexity of the area through supply base consolidation, optimised delivery setups etc.
- Build a close relationship with the key suppliers within the commodity and continue delivering value through supplier account management
- Become a part of the Nacelle & Hub management team which in addition the Director also includes 4 other Purchase Managers. This includes being part of setting the overall direction for the team as well as continuously focusing on optimising the organisation, processes and "ways of working"
- Become part of the Powertrain & Nacelles extended management team, where you together with your Purchasing Manager colleagues, will contribute to the organisational development of the full global department.
- Building a strong network within Vestas, including close engagement with colleagues from Technology, Production, Service and Quality. Further, provide pro-active stakeholder management, including stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience with strategic procurement combined with a degree in either business or engineering
- Proven record of strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience with managing a team
- Advanced skills within PPT and Excel required
- Experience with steel components an advantage but not a pre-requisite
