Power Solutions Innovation & Concepts Concept Development
In the Concept Development Department innovative ideas are transformed into concepts that build the foundation for Vestas to remain the industry leader. We base our working environment on a high degree of freedom to explore new concepts and willingness to take high technical risk, because failures are one of the sources for groundbreaking innovations.
We are a team of approximate 20 diverse people with different technical competencies, educational backgrounds and personal traits - we are very open-minded and encourage a go do approach.

Additional Information
Primary work location is Aarhus, Denmark.
The position requires 10-20 days of travel per year.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing and visualising new ideas within wind turbine design in close cooperation with the design team. Specifically, you will be responsible for:
- Design of wind turbine concepts at low-medium technology readiness levels
- Making proposals for cost optimal design for manufacturing, transport, installation, operation, service and maintenance
- Making proposals for use of materials and components
- Giving input to technical feasibility studies for various wind turbine concepts
Qualifications
You have:
- A technical background with more than 7 years of experience within wind turbine engineering
- A good understanding of wind turbine design and safety
- A broad knowledge within wind turbine manufacturing, transport, installation, operation, service and maintenance
- Worked with research, innovation and traditional engineering including experience with valuation of new ideas
- Knowledge within various materials particularly steel, cast iron, and composites
- Knowledge within electrical systems and energy conversion in a wind turbine will be an advantage
- You have excellent skills within 2D and 3D CREO modelling
- You have experience with Ansys FEA

- Ability to think out of the box and be open minded

- Go do approach to obstacles in project execution
- Ability to facilitate and resolve technical choices, using data and sound, simple engineering principles- the ability to dive into the details and challenge the process to secure an agile and fast concept development process
