About the department
The Business Innovation Garage is a newly established unit in Novo Nordisk. The team itself is a part of Digital Incubator & Innovation area. The team will focus on three main areas. Creation of an innovation-lab that will allow communities to come together to innovate and build a passionate culture. Establishing space for experimentations supporting initiatives that challenge status quo and leverage new technologies. Technology scouting to help augment our internal processes and ultimately support patients.
Core focus is to remain forward-looking and showcase strong adaptability. Furthermore, the team is and must be working in a highly agile manner and be able to shift its focus based on rapidly changing opportunities and threats within emerging technologies. Consequentially, you should expect the team structure to be dynamic as well.
About the job
As an Open Innovation Lead you will scout and collect ideas and new technologies from external sources; screen, evaluate and select ideas for future development in line with needs globally. You will be expected to identify new vendor/start-up opportunities to support the execution of new tech and ideas from the organization.
Drive co-development with start-ups/consultancies to build new product offerings to the business. You should be comfortable with working on projects with a high level of unknows and capable of incubating initiatives from ideation, to proof of concept, to pilot.
You will also be responsible for facilitating specific ideation processes both internally and externally. You should be able to convincingly and clearly communicate to stakeholders across the business and act as a trusted advisor with a strong understanding of business challenges and constraints.
You will primarily focus on identifying an approach for external collaboration within emerging technologies and building the demand for open innovation within the organization. You should expect a big responsibility and high level of exposure in this role. Innovation is a strategic area in Novo Nordisk and the industry is in fierce competition.
Qualifications
We are looking for a person with experience and passion for driving and communicating disruptive innovations. You should be able to tailor messages to relevant stakeholders from various levels of authority. Strong analytical, technical and business skills is needed to navigate the landscape of technologies and translate uncertainties into tangible opportunities for Novo Nordisk.
Formally, we expect you to have 5 - 8 years of consulting, product management, project management and/or innovation experience, a relevant Master’s degree, rooted in technology and/or innovation management, constant upskilling and a track record that include one or more of the following:
• An innovation track record working on, or driving, disruptive projects from idea to launch
• A track record of taking ownership and driving results with the ability to perform in high-pressure environments
• Knowledge and passion for digital trends
• Experience in developing relationships and working with multiple stakeholder on high profile cross functional and multinational initiatives
• Vivid and curious learner
• Eagerness to be a part of building something new and challenge traditional methodologies
You should also be well-articulated, have excellent business English skills (oral and written), and be able to move stakeholders ranging from technically minded colleagues to C-level executives.
Furthermore, you must be able to navigate between changing landscapes internally and externally – with an eye for win-win-solutions that truly matters.
