Set direction through partnership and collaboration across the organization
Reporting to the VP of Global Medical Affairs you will be responsible for establishing and fostering Global Field Medical Excellence in collaboration with affiliate Leadership, Field Medical Leaders and teams to ensure clarity and harmonization of roles and responsibilities of the Field Medical functions across stakeholders globally.
The role will play a critical part in driving strategy for processes and standards within Field Medical activities to ensure global consistency and compliance, manage risk and promote efficiency through direction and standardization. By leading Field Medical Excellence through quality oversight and coordination across geographies you will engage with medical and scientific stakeholders to create synergies to enhance Field Medical capabilities, skills and establish meaningful metrics.
This is a new leadership role within Global Medical Affairs and is ideally based either in the US HQ or at HQ in Denmark. The role will require you to travel 20% of the time (when not limited by Covid19 restrictions).
Your primary tasks will be to:
MD with pharmaceutical industry experience and Global leadership skills
We are looking for a positive people manager that finds it motivating to help other people to be their best. As part of this, you must know how to coach and inspire team members in a matrix settings. Additionally, you must have a good understanding of team dynamics in a global setup and know how to promote and support constructive collaboration – with understanding of and due respect to cultural and professional differences. This calls for your good communication skills that enable you to ensure a shared understanding of “Why, What, When and Who”

Your primary tasks will be to:
- Define the role of the Medical Science Liaisons at LEO Pharma in collaboration with Field Medical Leaders in the affiliates. Ensure training and roll-out across countries and areas.
- Develop Global Field Medical processes and standards that ensure clear roles and responsibilities that can be adapted locally. Share best practices for the Field Medical role acros countries
- Leverage commonalities across affiliates and make it work across geographies and therapeutic areas. Bring affiliates together and agree on priorities, prevent duplication
- Partner with GMA, Commercial Excellence, IT and other functions and support creation of the field technological systems for Field Medical use
- Partner with Commercial Excellence to ensure training on technological skills and Field Medical skills
- Develop a system for a uniform medical and scientific training program for Field Medical teams and lead aligned internal training projects
- Propose, design and implement engagement methods and Field Medical Excellence initiative that establish or refine best practices
- Collaborate with Field Medical Leaders to assess progress, identify challenges, training needs, and ensure successful implementation of techniques & initiatives
- Ensure industry integrity and ethical standards are understood and assured for external engagements as well as medical and scientific communications
- Monitor the landscape and deliver ongoing assessments of Field Medical strategy ad initiates for gaps & opportunities offering strategic advantage.
MD with pharmaceutical industry experience and Global leadership skills

Your experience and competence:
- Degree qualified; PharmD, Ph.D. MD or DO required
- Well-seasoned experience working in the pharmaceutical industry and at least 5 years working in a leadership capacity
- Thorough understanding of Dermatology or Immunology and clinical research preferred
- Proven and sound knowledge of the current pharmaceutical climate and applicable laws, regulations and standards
- Experience developing Field Medical stakeholder engagement resources & training
- Demonstrated experience in cross-functional project leadership
- Expertise in establishing cross-regional/functional standards in alignment with regulations, codes and industry standards which impact and influence multiple departments and levels of management
- Strong problem-solving skills, strategic capabilities, project management, planning and organization skills
