BASF A/S Ballerup employs approximately 160 employees in Production, QA, QC, R & D, EHS, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics and Administration.
To support the future development and growth of the production site in Ballerup, we are searching for a strategic and tactical Production Manager, with a direct reference to the Site Manager. The role holds the overall responsibility for production, incl. developing a high-performance production, change management and – projects, digitalization, modernization of production and much more. Your organization includes 5 team managers and a total of 80 employees.

What you can expect
The primary objective of the role is to lead and manage the strategic and operational performance of the production functions. The main responsibilities will be:
- Overall responsible for production
- Develop a high performance, collaborative and empowered leadership culture, influencing and engaging at all levels across the production
- Deliver excellent day to day operational performance across all indicators, safety, people, quality, service, efficiency and cost
- Lead key strategic forward looking for change initiatives and operational projects around capital investment, performance and cultural change within the area of responsibility
- Develop proactive, responsive and effective relationships with key functions such as QA, QC, Development, Engineering, Logistics and cross key functions such as Marketing and Supply chain
- Maintain constructive working relationships with representative bodies (works councils, safety committees etc.) and lead discussions and forums as necessary
What we expect (the ideal candidate)
- Strong leadership/people management skills (min. 8-10 years’ experience as manager)
- Impressive, demonstrable track record and skills/experience gained within a similar position(s)
- Good experience in breaking down strategy to action plan and in implementing organizational change
- Succeed in a culture who share knowledge and enjoy to develop middle managers
- Good knowledge of LEAN (5S, Kaizen, VSM, DMAIC)
- Strategic thinker with the ability to influence / motivate / coach and inspire at all levels
- Good experience in working with changing culture projects
- Highly customer focused and pragmatic approach with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Strong analytical/data and problem-solving abilities
- Process and procedurally oriented (GMP) - a background in pharma- or food industry, is an advantages
- Scientific degree (ideally pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry or related)
