Are you ready to lead a competency centre delivering machinery solutions for the future of the Maersk Fleet?
Maersk Fleet Technology is responsible for implementing the solutions that will drive Maersk’s CO2 emissions to net zero by 2050, the machinery team plays a pivotal role in this transition.
You will become part of the management team in Maersk Fleet Technology (MFT), who sets the direction for technology solutions for the Maersk container vessels.
The challenge of managing a team of very talented mechanical engineers and project managers. The opportunity to engage with colleagues across Maersk globally in order to drive improvements to compete in a global environment.
MFT is a highly specialized maritime engineering competence centre responsible for the container vessel designs in Maersk and supports other Maersk entities on vessel design, construction and optimization.
MFT is delivering support and projects across the world on newbuilding, vessel retrofit and conversion, technical innovation, vessel performance optimization and a variety of other specialist technical services with the aim of continuously improving the safety, reliability and cost of operation.
The machinery engineering team deliver complex projects from the initial stage to final delivery, and handles specifications, negotiations with suppliers and ship yards, performs acceptance tests and sea-trials as well as operational optimization of existing vessels.
The team works on both long term and urgent projects. With focus on innovation, safety, cost-effectiveness and environmental solutions, you and the rest of the team will contribute to setting the future standards for new and existing vessels.
As a member of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, you will be part of a dynamic, complex and truly international conglomerate, with excellent opportunities to develop relationships and build your career.
You most likely have a master or bachelor in mechanical engineering and have developed a strong profile within the area of ship design, prime movers, machinery systems design or propulsion systems. You have worked in the shipping industry or within equipment suppliers to the maritime industry.
You are an experienced leader of technical experts. You strive by applying your leadership talent and deep know-how to solve multi-disciplinary challenges. You are an inspiring leader and strive at stimulating a knowledge based work environment and developing your team’s competencies.
You have effective communication skills with technicians as well as non-technicians.
Your experience with people management and ship technology combined with a commercial understanding results in an innovative approach which combines a focus on cost effectiveness and customer service.
You are stimulated by applying and sharing knowledge in a technically leading environment with demanding customers.
