A vacancy exists for a Head of Network Finance to Lead the Network Finance team in our Ocean Division and set the direction on network cost performance management (covering roughly USD 10bn of the Ocean cost base). In this highly strategic position, you will also be responsible for driving the direction for finance involvement in network decisions end-to-end, including considering impacts from revenue drivers and variable cost drivers. This includes financial analysis, management reporting, performance management and forecasting of network cost.
As Finance Business Partner to the SVP of Network. The Head of Network Finance plays a key role in driving and overseeing the cost agenda for Ocean, including considering the transformation agenda on cost insights and cost management.
• Leading the performance agenda on network cost with Network Directors and the VP of Network.
• Running the monthly performance management of network cost and deployment analysis to drive insights into performance vs. decisions made and understanding the run-rate.
• Active involvement in setting the cost direction in the monthly and quarterly management reporting to senior management in Ocean – overseeing that the Network teams deliver to the plan, and take active role to define when a new plan is needed
• Supporting with ad hoc analysis of network cost including Trade insights to drive decision making and acceptance of cargo.
• Owning Network business cases and standardising how network business cases are leveraged in decision making in Ocean across Trade, Network and Execution teams
• Defining the standards and transforming the reporting suite on network cost to drive the relevant level of insights.
• Setting the new direction on the Digital capabilities and platforms for cost insights to drive more effective planning processes
• Building a high performing team with clear roles and responsibilities and actively driving talent management across Ocean Finance
• Establishing and implementing short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
• Background from a Master, HD or Cand. Merc. degree at an accredited university combined with experience from a similar position.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Experience in financial and strategic planning and execution
• Understanding of cost drivers in Ocean including interlink between Trade/Product and Operations
• The ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent and interpersonal skills – with the ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
