In Maersk we have decided to accelerate our efforts to decarbonize our fleet and have a number of different projects to support this. One of them is building the StarConnect application.

StarConnect is our bunker and operational performance system using the newest technology to give us the most reliable and timely data insights and enable our crew to make smarter decisions in order to optimize the fuel consumption.

You will be working for Fleet Management and Technology in Maersk, which means you will be working closely with the largest shipping fleet in the world.

We offer

Through the organization you will get exposed to different aspects of ship management ranging from HR to, safety, compliance and technical support and development.

In your role you will be assigned to the StarConnect project and be responsible, together with other change and process professionals to implement the future processes that will ensure correct usage by both the vessel crew and the shore teams who are supporting our vessels on how to optimize the use of engines, voyage planning and execution, speed and port stays.

We have a large organization working globally with shore functions primarily based out of Europe, India and Singapore and a fleet occupying 12.000 seafarers sailing all across the world.

As you will need to engage with both shore staff and seafarers, you will need to be well accustomed with digital collaboration, working in projects that are physically dispersed and therefore have a global and culturally adaptable mindset.

You will join the Crew Engagement and Business Process team which means your closest colleagues all will be working within Change management, Communication, Process development and implementation.
In the team we value each other and there is a lot of focus on personal and professional development.

Key responsibilities

We have a number of legacy systems which are currently being replaced by StarConnect and concurrently we are building new and improved functionalities. The goal is to increase transparency on key measures, ensure easy access to performance data both at sea and on shore and digitalize existing manual processes.

As our process partner you will therefore be working with a mix of processes already designed and in the making.

You will work closely with other process professionals and be responsible for:

• Ensuring the overall direction, scope and quality of process work within Smart Decarbonization Solutions.

• Driving the process work, including choice of method and involvement of relevant stakeholders.

• Documenting and together with key stakeholders agreeing the expected benefits and improvement potentials that arise with the changes in processes and the new digital solution.

• Analysis of As-Is, design and documentation of the standardized To-Be processes - in collaboration with end-users and other stakeholders in the organization.

• Optimizing processes to make the most out of the new digital tools available

• Ensuring that there is a buy in on the To-Be processes and commitment to benefits realization.

• Defining, monitoring and driving improvement of end-to-end process performance metrics, incl. as-is baseline and target future state

• Collaborating with multiple process functions across Maersk.

We are looking for

As the ideal candidate you have a relevant Bachelor or Master degree, and a minimum of 3 years experience in designing, developing and implementing processes.

You have experience in managing a complex stakeholder landscape and dissecting the processes requirements from stakeholders with at times diverging interests.

You understand the importance of focusing on end-user needs and thrive in the intersection where you translate these into processes that can be understood by technical experts and agreed by the managers influencing the strategy.

Required competencies:

• Process analysis & design - trained and experienced working with Lean methodologies

• Experience with establishment of process measures and benefit realization

• Communicate with and facilitate large or small groups in writing, person, words and visuals

• Self-driven and proactive

• Strong drive to get stuff done and meeting deadlines consistently

You know and understand:

• How to analyze business needs, design initiatives and work with stakeholders

• How to create high performance culture and engagement in all you do

• The reasons for choosing an appreciative and collaborative approach in both product development and change management

• Agile methods and basic project management

At Maersk we value the diversity of our talent and will always strive to recruit the best person for the job – we value diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to: gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability or religious beliefs.

We are proud of our diversity and see it as a genuine source of strength for building high performing teams.
