As a part of this process, you will have an opportunity to lead, shape and drive a new Procurement Technology team which will have the objective of creating value with new procurement initiatives and enabling end2end process integration within Maersk. As a part of this process, you will have an opportunity to lead and shape our Procurement Technology architecture and in so doing will set the direction for the digital future of Procurement within Maersk.
Maersk is on multi-year program to modernise its technology and digital solutions footprint and as part of new strategy, Procurement has now been established as a new Technology organization. Although we already have numerous established procurement solutions throughout the group, we need to modernize our applications estate to enable the Procurement organization to deliver greater value back to the business. The new Lead Architect role is absolutely key to shaping the vision together with the Procurement product team.

• Understand business strategy and priorities and work with Architecture domain to align IT strategy
• Identify, research and prototype new Procurement Technologies and innovations, in Partnership with Product Owners and other architecture team and recommend approach
• Deliver the Procurement roadmap and strategy according to Enterprise Architecture principles and guidance
• Define Principles and standards that directs the developments for Procurement to support the wider initiatives and digital strategies
• Deliver conceptual, logical and physical architectures for Procurement products
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and utilize the knowledge to deliver Proof of Concepts on emerging technologies e.g. Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence that supports Procurement business outcomes
• Perform validation checks during build & deployment phases to ensure alignment with approved architectural design
• Act as single point of contact for issue resolution and direction
• Maintain a register of technical debt for Procurement and create backlogs to support road maps
• Review and Sign off on Architectural designs
• Keep track of Procurement system health checks and standardization metrics
• Develop OKR dashboard to provide transparency, track and monitor delivery outcomes and capability of team

You have:
• Experience working as a Procurement Architect in agile delivery environments;
• A minimum 10 years’ hands on experience in Procurement technologies encompassing both Direct and Indirect procurement;
• At least 5 years of experience with large Procurement technology implementations as a cross- functional expert or Architect;
• Proven ability to engage with business owners to understand the business needs and priorities, lead requirement gathering and analysis, and design solutions leveraging appropriate tools and platforms;
• Prior experience with emerging technologies including ML, AI, IoT and Blockchain is a plus;
• Experience in implementing large and complex Procurement Projects, solution build, testing and delivery to meet business requirements;
• Experience with one or more of the major procurement platforms together with SaaS based point solutions;
• Experience with middleware solutions and API technologies;
• Experience of working across end2end process scenarios outside of procurement e.g. into Finance;
• Experience in Mobile Device related development architecture;
• Experience in working with Agile, Scrum and waterfall delivery models;
• Good problem solving, analytical & communication skills. Ability to work in demanding situations;
• Professional or Post Graduation degree in Computer Science or engineering, or a related field or equivalent alternative education;
• Certification in TOGAF, API technologies are preferred;
• Collaborative mindset across business functions;
• Flexibility to work on different time-zones;
• Prior experience of working for shipping and logistics industry is advantage

Key responsibilities
