As Network and Market Manager in our West Central Asia Team you will join our East West Network & Market department which is a key part of our Ocean Products organization.
You will be given the opportunity to stretch your capabilities and toolbox by analyzing markets, designing and implementing networks and enabling the commercial strategy.
You will work and build relationships with colleagues around the world and across functions and have a tangible impact on our business.
The West Central Asia team is one of nine Network & Market teams in the Ocean Products organization of Maersk. We play a key role in cementing our position as the global market leader of container logistics.
Network and Market is responsible for the strategic direction of the individual markets, the network design and the market P&L result.
You will be based in Copenhagen and some travel should be expected.

Key responsibilities
Through analyses and applying market intelligence you will be involved in developing our network, influencing product targets, delivery of our contractual promises, and setting commercial direction at market level with the goal of maximizing return on our assets.
You will oversee the daily business performance in the market in close partnership with our colleagues around the globe.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• In-depth analysis and performance management to drive Ocean P&L and strategy of the markets
• Monitoring of market trends and ad hoc data gathering and market analysis to support strategic planning
• Ensure close alignment with Regional Ocean Management and Liner Operations Teams on short-term and long-term trade offs
• Develop the most optimal Ocean network ensuring that Maersk delivers the best customer experience at lowest cost base
• Scenario planning to ensure we have backup plans ready for various changes in market or operational conditions.
• Competitor analysis and forecasting of competitive market landscape including Maersk positioning and suggestions for improvement
• Drive weekly performance ensuring we meet our utilization and schedule reliability targets
• Collaborate with Products team to ensure Customer and Asset outcomes are aligned
• Freight list (budget) management
We are looking for
There are several entries into this challenging job and both educational and relevant working experience will be taken into consideration.
Your analytical skills are second to none. This is necessary in order to understand and manage loads of – even sometimes opposing information from the surrounding organization. You love to delve into the data, and you know how to determine what is of most importance.
• You don’t get lost in the detail – but can use the data to get an overview, come to a quick decision and make valuable recommendations.
• You have a strategic and innovative mindset and the ability to overview even complex networks and never lose your footing.
• Finally, you are energetic and hard-working and excellent at building relations and influencing your key stakeholders. You maintain relationships and get buy in - even when decisions are unpopular.
