We offer
As Network and Market Manager in our Oceania Team you will join our North South Network & Market team which is a key part of our Ocean organization.
You will be responsible for one of our key Oceania markets and will be given the opportunity to stretch your capabilities and toolbox by analyzing markets, designing and implementing networks and enabling the commercial strategy.
You will work and build relationships with colleagues around the world and across functions and have a tangible impact on our business.
The Oceania Team is one of nine Network & Market teams in the Ocean Products organization of Maersk. We play a key role in cementing our position as the global market leader of container logistics.
Network and Market is responsible for the strategic direction of the individual markets, the network design and the market P&L result.
You will be based in Copenhagen and some travel should be expected.

Key responsibilities
Through analyses and applying market intelligence you will be involved in developing our network, influencing product targets, delivery of our contractual promises, and setting commercial direction at market level with the goal of maximizing return on our assets.
You will oversee the daily business performance in the market in close partnership with our colleagues around the globe. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• In-depth analysis and performance management to drive Ocean P&L and strategy of the markets
• Monitoring of market trends and ad hoc data gathering and market analysis to support strategic planning
• Ensure close alignment with Regional Ocean Management and Ocean Customer Logistics Teams on short-term and long-term trade offs
• Develop the most optimal Ocean network ensuring that Maersk delivers the best customer experience at lowest cost base
• Scenario planning to ensure we have backup plans ready for various changes in market or operational conditions.
• Competitor analysis and forecasting of competitive market landscape including Maersk positioning and suggestions for improvement
• Drive weekly performance ensuring we meet our utilization and schedule reliability targets
• Collaborate with Products team to ensure Customer and Asset outcomes are aligned
• Freight list (budget) management
We are looking for
There are several entries into this challenging job and both educational and relevant working experience will be taken into consideration.
We would expect 5-7 years of experience in a Commercial or Operations position, with strong business acumen and customer focus.
You have a high energy level and thrive in a fast-paced environment with ambitions to deliver outstanding results.
You enjoy working with people and building partnerships.
You are proactive and take the lead in challenging and role modelling what exceptional network and market management can be.
The ideal candidate has the following proven experience:
• Exceptional analytical capabilities and structure, able to define issues and solutions from large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data.
• Proactiveness and self-motivation, with high energy, decisiveness and drive for results
• Strong stakeholder management, conflict resolution.
• Collaboration and teamwork across hierarchies and functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
