Leading a small expert team, you will take ownership of all FP&A activities for Ocean – a $45bn revenue business in 2021 and the engine of Maersk’s profitability.
From forecasting the Ocean outlook through to developing the five-year business plan you will be at the heart of the Ocean business and play a key role in providing new analysis and insights into how the business is performing and where we can improve.

Key responsibilities
· Leading the monthly and quarterly performance reporting, including driving the process across Maersk to set the direction
· Active ownership of the monthly and quarterly management reporting to senior management in Ocean – overseeing that the Ocean segment delivers to the plan, and coordinate insights to support the work when a new plan is needed
· Drive the Ocean business plan process to inform long term resource allocation and investment decisions. Oversee the process with the strategy team as well as senior leadership in Ocean and the corporate FP&A team
· Support with ad hoc analysis of Ocean – from product performance to competitor analysis
· Ensure a solid operating system is in place across the Ocean leaders supported by standard reporting and aligned ways of working
· Active role in driving the digital capabilities through collaboration with BI teams to drive more effective planning processes
· Build and develop an engaged, high performing team with clear roles and responsibilities and actively drive talent management for FP&A.
We are looking for
To be successfull in this role you will have a relevant Bachelors/Masters degree as well as being qualified accountant with a number of years of post-qualified experience.
You:
· Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and experience in financial and strategic planning and execution
· The ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
· Ideal candidate has worked in logistics or shipping to better understanding the business context
· Professional written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent and interpersonal skills – with the ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
· People management experience
· Able to create results through people
· Openminded and collaborative in nature
· A team player with cultural intelligence to work across the company
· Result and deadline-oriented and have the courage to challenge the current set up
· Drives with purpose and focus the standards at Maersk, listening to inputs while not deviating from achieving high quality outputs
· Thrive with ambiguity.
