Warehousing and Distribution is part of Maersk Contract Logistics value proposition and the WnD Centre of Engineering will be a key component of the Contract Logistics Growth strategy.
The talent joining us will work as part of the Central Engineering team, whose aim is to provide support to the Global WnD team on the strategic projects. The Centre of excellence is a differentiator in Maersk WnD product portfolio, advancing the knowledge of the global WnD community.

As a Global Contract Logistics Solution Engineer, you will be at forefront of driving the Maersk Contract Logistics into its exponential growth journey.

Key responsibilities
• Lead Warehouse Solution Design process to win complex customers that require advanced warehouse engineering knowhow
• Detailed Solution design, costing & pricing, where necessary to personally take the lead:
- Capture core data and assumptions that are required to design, cost and price the solution for the customer, including the establishment of a process for capturing all customer insights that might be relevant for this pursuit or future upselling opportunities
- Develop detailed designs for the solution incorporating the scope of services, operating model, resource models, operating cost estimates, recommended selling price, estimated value for the client and draft P&L for Maersk
- In collaboration with the implementation managers, define likely implementation strategy, timelines and cost estimates.
- Establish and highlight future potential up-selling journey for Maersk with the customer
- Calculate warehouse size based on throughput and product data mainly provided as part of a customer RFQ
- Create warehouse process flows for key activities including receiving, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch to maximize productivity
- Calculate activity productivity targets to support resource and activity based costing models Create warehouse throughput simulation models using CLASS software to visualize warehouse operations, throughputs, and alternatives
• Guide WnD teams globally on new business opportunities
• Provide innovative solutions and ideas to help create the most competitive costings
• Be an active participant within the Global Contract Logistics Community:
- Capture and share knowledge / best practices throughout the organization to support short- and long-term success
- Speak up and share both supportive and critical views in a way that fosters a dynamic and engaging pursuit of continuous improvement
We are looking for
• Education to degree level with preference for industrial engineering, operations or logistics discipline
• 20+ years’ experience in the design of fulfilment(b2b and b2c) solutions
• Highly experienced in designing solutions for core WnD focus verticals(retail, lifestyle, tech, FMCG and automotive)
• Competence in creating warehouse layouts and simulation models using CLASS and AutoCAD software
• Exposure of working in warehouse or logistics operations including implementation or customer solution support is beneficial
• Expert in developing advanced modelling / costing techniques
• Motivation and willingness to deliver to high standards under tight timelines
• Innovativeness in reaching conclusions and making recommendations based on limited and/or ambiguous data
• Proficiency in English language both spoken and written
• Extremely skilled warehouse solution engineer, who has deep understanding of making process changes on productivity and financials
