You can be a pivotal part of this amazing journey! We are looking for a Senior Decarbonisation Manager for our Air freight business to join our Logistics and Services Decarbonisation Team.
Working in our Decarbonisation team means you are working on something pretty exciting: shaping Maersk’s journey to reduce climate impact of our logistics services, driving momentum in the market and across the organisation, and pushing the boundaries by engaging with exciting innovations.

More about the role
As a Senior Decarbonisation Manager for our Air Freight Business, you will join the Logistics and Services Decarbonisation team and work closely with our Air Freight – freight forwarding and our own aircraft fleet - and Fuel Sourcing teams. You will be basically responsible for our overall Air Decarbonisation strategy and Sustainable Air Fuel sourcing in particular, leading the cross-functional development and execution while providing subject matter expertise and driving innovation to decarbonise air freight.
Our target is to transport 30% of our customers’ cargo with Sustainable Aviation Fuel and to achieve this, we work closely with more stakeholders in other functions such as sales, platforms and technology, Maersk Growth – our venture capital arm and many more.
You’ll be the pivotal point to drive decarbonisation in a growing yet highly emission intensive business, helping to decarbonise in a cost-effective and speedy way.
You will:
- Prioritize air freight decarbonization levers in line with overall APMM strategy; produce and update the transition roadmap including financial and emission impact and establish KPI system
- Own and drive the sustainable aviation fuel sourcing strategy and roadmap, including volume plan, sourcing opportunities and risk management
- Assess the sustainable aviation fuel market, scout for opportunities and establish partnerships and connections
- Establish and manage our deal pipeline and coordinate deal execution across all Maersk stakeholders
- Prepare investment proposals supported by Finance
- Assess innovation and start ups in the aviation space and lead strategic investment cases end-to-end from formulating the case to decision making and value creation afterwards
- Prepare and present management reports and drive decision making
- Support internal communication and training
- Present Maersk’s Air decarbonisation activities in external forums and conferences
- Be a natural point of contact and sparring partner for Maersk stakeholders on decarbonisation of air freight matters
We believe you’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have 10+ years of experience in the air transport, aviation fuel sourcing or development, management consulting or related industries
- Have a background or developed expertise in decarbonisation and/or sustainable fuels - a strong record in fuels sourcing or investment deals is definitely a plus!
- Have collaborative leadership skills and impeccable stakeholder management skills – you can drive decision making with senior management while managing cross-functional teams at all levels
- Have program management discipline which is second to none and financial acumen
- Have a curious mindset and is eager to create and share knowledge
- Love a good challenge and handle ambiguity with a smile
- Are well versed in PowerPoint and Excel
