Maersk Procurement is looking for a Category Manager who will be able to take the lead on the Global 3rd Party Labour category (Warehouse staff).

As Category Manager for 3rd Party Labour you will be a great contributor to developing a category framework across all areas and regions within Logistics & Services in Maersk, and you will be a vital part of developing and implementing procurement and category strategies to support the ongoing transformation and growth journey to becoming the global integrator of:

Key Responsibilities

As Category Manager you will be responsible for laying the foundation on our approach to 3rd Party Labour within the Logistics & Services space.

Close collaboration with selected partners is the key to achieving our ambitious strategy and you will be tasked with building and further develop these partnerships. You will be tasked with creating transparency in our supplier landscape enabling us to leverage our volumes across areas and region within L&S. This will require strong stakeholder management skills and you will need to establish seamless processes and standards to ensure strong compliance and drive synergies across locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Spend ownership and project pipeline management (contracts with 3rd party labour providers/suppliers)
  • Contract negotiations and database management for Global strategic suppliers incl Supplier Relationship Management
  • Compliance assurance per group standards and exception management with group process
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional teams to define Category strategy and in implementation as well
  • Cross-functional collaboration with other centers of expertise (Compliance, Operations, Sales/Commercial)
  • Client stakeholder management on their compliance-related and labour-management process-related queries

As part of our transformation journey, our Logistics and Services product is in rapid growth, both organically but also in-originally through M&A’s.

You will take part in ensuring that synergies are unlocked, procurement processes are developed and implemented, and external spending is optimized.

Besides your category responsibilities you are also expected to take active participation in supporting the delivering of our L&S procurement transformation strategy. We are a small, but high impacting team in Copenhagen. We care for each other and through sparring and cross functional strategic workstreams we are creating an environment for success.

Who we are looking for

Our employees represent a wide range of educational backgrounds, work experience and nationalities - most important to us are your personal skills. You must be structured and self-driven with a strong sense of detail and interpersonal, and communication skills.

You must thrive in a fast paced, fast changing and dynamic environment and be a true team player.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with Procurement, Supply Chain Management and ideally have experience from 3rd Party Labour Procurement in a large organization
  • Experience with developing and executing global category strategies
  • Subject matter understanding (or keep interest to develop) with-in procurement of 3rd Party Labour (or other service categories)
  • Your strategic and commercial competencies are strong and proven as are your negotiations skills
  • It is a prerequisite that you are fluent in English
