An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Investigation Lead to join a newly established whistle-blower investigation team in Maersk. The work location can be flexible within European countries (Copenhagen is preferred). Relocation is not mandatory.

As our Investigation Lead, you will support the people function in HR-related whistleblower cases in close collaboration with stakeholders across Maersk. You will report to Anne-Marie Olsen, who is the Head of HR Legal Governance and Investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-ordinating and leading HR-related whistle-blower cases in Europe and Africa together with the people function within those regions

• Planning investigations by framing the allegation(s), determining elements of proof, and identifying investigative tasks

• Proactively identifying where support may be needed in investigations conducted by the people function

• Ensuring that all investigative steps, including those delegated to the people function, are delivered in line with governance and processes

• Drafting high quality investigation reports as a standalone record of the investigation

• Providing regular briefings to management on the progress of investigations including any potential delays or issues; and any potential findings or risks identified

• Training the people function in conducting investigations

• Making recommendations to senior leadership regarding actions to be taken to address violations of laws, Code of Conduct and/or internal rules or regulations

• Monitoring the progress of corrective measures taken.

What we look for

The ideal candidate should envision below:

• Advanced experience in planning and conducting workplace and/or compliance investigations in a larger corporate entity, consultancy, or governmental agency

• Demonstrated investigative and interviewing skills of identifying, assessing and escalating potential risks

• Experience handling confidential, complex and sensitive matters

• Capable of prioritising actions, identifying potential delays and forward planning delivery

• Significant experience independently owning and delivering a portfolio of work at pace, including delegating activities

• Solid stakeholder management skills, including ability to maintain and convey neutrality, independence and objectivity in all investigations.

• Attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication skills including an ability to summarise complex information clearly and succinctly

• Strong emotional intelligence and conflict management skills, including ability to interact and communicate with persons from various cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds.

• A strong driving force, striving for continuous improvement, be able to see opportunities and wanting to solve problems

• Willing to travel to perform investigations and/or to attend training and conferences

• Knowledge or experience within employee relations, labor and employment law is an advantage but not a prerequisite.

•You will get an opportunity to help and advise the business in preventing WB cases from occurring in the future by creating a psychologically safe workplace where employees feel that their concerns are being heard and cared for.
