Are you an experienced Sale and Purchase broker or an owner’s/charterer’s Sale and Purchase manager?
Would you like to drive complex vessel sale and purchase transactions, contributing to Maersk’s portfolio consisting of more than 300 owned containerships?

Key responsibilities
As a Senior Vessel Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for initiating and executing vessel Sale and Purchase projects, supporting Maersk’s ambitious Fleet Portfolio Strategy. Specific responsibilities include:
- Identification and financial analysis of market opportunities in connection with purchase of 2nd hand vessels or divesting owned tonnage and formulating the business case narratives and rationales.
- Responsible for negotiating and achieving exceptional commercial terms as well as finalizing MOA contract terms, while at the same time following up, mitigating and finding solutions to commercial and operational issues up until, and sometimes even after, a vessel’s delivery.
- Developing and maintaining market connections and relationships with various external business partners and suppliers (such as owners, banks, leasing companies, brokers etc.)
- Formulate “go-to-market” strategies when Maersk is divesting vessels.
- Work in close collaboration with the Chartering Execution team on identifying purchase candidates and developing projects where time charters are involved.
- Monitor the various internal project teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of 2nd hand vessels to Maersk’s network and successful delivery of sold tonnage to third party buyers.
- Create and implement processes and strategies to support the overall business
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in sale and purchase of vessels and is either working as a broker or is in a owner’s/charterer’s in-house Sale and Purchase position with preferably a strong knowledge of the various containership market players.
Furthermore, you have:
- a strong commercial mindset
- solid negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to multitask
- a result oriented, proactive mindset
- an exceptional eye for detail, without compromising business efficiency
- the ability to work independently, but at the same time you thrive in a setting where everyone contributes and lifts as a team.
- the ability to collaborate and efficiently manage multiple stakeholders
- fluency in English. Danish is not a necessity.
- a data driven mindset when making recommendations and decisions
All in all, you will thrive in this role because you have a natural ability to spot market opportunities and a passion to put commercial deals together, while enjoying team collaboration with likeminded peers.
