We took a big step on this journey in March when we launched our new People Function Service Delivery model and organization. The new model is driven by a clear mission: support our employees, so they can best support our customers. Our new operating model and global technology implementation (Workday) will be enabled through global people processes across brands, geographies and employee segments. Our People organization will be divided in three key areas: Centre of Excellence (COEs), Strategic Business Partners and People Partnering Organization (PPO).
We are looking for an emphatic and people centric leader for our People Advisors supporting the Maersk HQ in Denmark, Copenhagen. The role is part of our PPO and reports to Head of People Advisory for Europe out of our hub in Lisbon, Portugal. The People Advisory Manager for HQ will work from our HQ office in Copenhagen, Denmark while leading People Advisors in both Copenhagen and Portugal.

As the People Advisory Manager your number one priority is leadership of the People Advisors. We are still in early days of our new ways of working and therefore continuous change management is key. The People Advisors are our main People Function interface for employees. Our new model includes a lot of new self-service opportunities for our employees and People Advisors are crucial when it comes to supporting our employees in adapting to new opportunities. In People Advisory we have strong commitments of availability and visibility towards the employees.
Whether their issue is big or small, our people should feel cared for and this employee experience is our performance purpose in People Advisory.
The team will furthermore support the delivery of the HR cycle with administrative tasks related to onboarding, annual performance management, job moves, exit, etc. People Advisors have process overlaps with almost all parts of our People Function and we therefore need a People Advisory Manager who is strong in stakeholder management and who enjoys building relationships based on collaboration. We succeed as one team across the People Function.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, engage, motivate and develop a team of app 20 colleagues consisting of 1 team lead, 1 People Process Specialist and 7 People Advisors in Portugal and another 7 working from our HQ office in Denmark
- As the leader of the People Advisory team in HQ you manage and drive all People Function related communication, events and initiatives to the employees located in the HQ office and with this task need to stay in close alignment with all other teams in the People Function
- Support the establishment of the new service delivery model in the HQ office including continuous change management with the business and building of capabilities in your team
- Facilitate knowledge transfer across the people advisory team to other people function teams based on the collaboration needed across our processes
- Provide local subject matter expertise to processes and tasks
In your daily work you will be in close contact with your People Advisory Manager peers across Europe. You will also work closely with the other People Partnering Organization teams supporting the HQ office as well as the population of HRBPs.

What we are looking for
You are an HR generalist and leader, with sounded experience in HR operations, systems and process savvy and are excited about putting your expertise at work in our mission of simple and efficient employee experience.
As a leader you must drive high performance always based on high engagement and never get tired of another coaching conversation about the wellbeing of your team. You want to propel your career further by gaining unique transformation experience in an international environment and would like to play a key role in stabilizing the new service delivery landscape and solutions.
- 5-8 years of HR generalist/leader background from a large international organization, including HR operations
- Fluent in English, Danish language abilities are a plus but not needed
- You believe in achieving better service delivery through leadership and engagement
- Experience with high volumes service delivery is an advantage
- Passion for delivering great employee experience
- A proactive, ‘let’s get it done’ attitude geared towards continuous improvement
- Flexibility and adaptability to operate in a fast-paced, developing project environment, taking ownership and setting directions with minimal guidance
- Resilience: the change process, is anything but straightforward; accepting uncertainty and bouncing back from setbacks while keeping your enthusiasm is a tall order, but we need it
- Collaborative working style, fostering cooperation and teamwork to find solutions
