Opportunity

As Head of Procurement and Strategic Partnerships Finance, you will be responsible for leading a high-performance team to provide financial analysis and performance management insights to Maersk’s Global Procurement organization covering all of Maersk’s direct and indirect procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finance partner and trusted advisor to Global procurement team on all financial matters by bringing data driven insights and transparency to decision making. Sets strategic direction and builds a roadmap to take procurement and strategic partnerships finance to the next level.

  • Continuously drives cost mindset by establishing a performance framework that ensure savings targets are delivered including tracking and reporting of procurement team’s contribution to P&L savings for each product vertical.

  • In partnership with business, proactively identifies opportunities to drive cost improvement initiatives utilizing data driven spend analysis for key commodities. Partners with supplier relationship management (SRM) to influence financial aspects of strategic supplier relationships.

  • Leads the annual business planning and quarterly rolling forecast process ensuring procurement inputs are captured by key stakeholders when developing their cost outlook. Reports periodic performance against the plan and rolling forecast.

  • Collaborates with Finance, Business Intelligence and Platforms teams across Maersk to improve the quality of data available to present accurate view of cost, trends and opportunities to drive further improvements.

  • Supports Procurement to Pay (P2P) initiatives between Finance and Procurement teams to drive efficiency in business processes. Optimizes governance for global vendor payments and authority matrix to strike the right balance between risk management and agility.

  • Drives high level of engagement with business stakeholders by building relationships across the business.

  • Recruit and Develop team of highly engaged employees.


What are we looking for?

  • A proven leader who fosters an environment of trust and high engagement in the team.

  • Self-driven and outgoing team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to engage, guide and challenge across functions and disciplines.

  • Possess a solid understanding of the business and demonstrate an ability to navigate skillfully in a matrixed organization.

  • Able to deal with ambiguity and put structure to relatively new business issues that don’t have a precedence to follow.

  • Highly analytical and proficient in handling large volume of financial information to drive business insights.

  • Clear and concise communicator with high degree of executive presence
