We are looking for an experienced and compassionate leader to lead the global Category Management team for our Logistics & Services (L&S) related procurement activities. You will be globally responsible for setting the direction and orchestrating our procurement plans, strategies, and policies. You and your team will own and lead key internal and external engagements and support the regional and area-based procurement teams to ensure we can execute and deliver on our plans and global programs. You are a visible driving force for the company vision of being the integrator of container logistics and continuously review opportunities on combining Ocean and Logistics initiatives to the greater benefit for Maersk and our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the L&S Category Management function, setting the direction for the team and ensuring high engagement.

  • Own the Global Procurement Strategy and global SRM/ESG programs for Landside Transportation (road, rail, barge), Warehouse 3rd Party Labour, Facilities Management. Security and co-develop this in cooperation with the global Product, Delivery and regional/area procurement teams.

  • Develop and maintain the Global Procurement Policies and Frameworks in cooperation with the global and regional procurement teams.

  • Lead the global transformation and enablement of standardization, digitization, and automation projects across the categories in scope.

  • Support global and regional and area procurement teams in executing procurement strategies and pipelines through central ambassadorship and representation.

  • Develop and drive customer centricity and cross functional collaboration mindset across procurement teams to develop and procure the right services and products at the right cost.

  • Engage with L&S Product and Delivery teams to provide and capture insights and opportunities linked to suppliers and markets.

  • Participate in business development projects with other group companies to develop strategic projects for group value.

  • Participate in strategic ad-hoc projects such as M&A, alliances etc.


We are looking for

  • Empathetic leadership style, inspirational and collaborative approach driving clear vision, direction, and prioritization, manage ambiguity effectively. 5+ years in leadership position in an international company is a clear advantage.

  • Comfortable working in a complex, global, and fast-moving environment with colleagues and team members based in global locations.

  • A relationship and trust builder and strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to connect and work across functions and disciplines and engage with all levels of organization.

  • Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and agility to navigate with finesse across different nationalities.

  • Experience from senior procurement and/or operational roles, preferably with demonstratable experience of devising and shaping category strategies.

  • Exposure to the shipping and logistic industry.

  • A decisive candidate who possesses a strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation perspective.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
