The Platforms help enable Maersk’s vision to be the Global Integrator of container logistics, connecting and simplifying customers’ supply chains. Additionally, the team creates the foundation to integrate data, systems and processes, powered by scalable Digital Infrastructure and APIs. Role Summary: We are looking for an ambitious Technical Project/Program Manager to take lead for scaling Maersk StarConnect to a large portion of our chartered fleet and evaluating valuable option for integration to external bunker optimisation solutions – Maersk StarConnect being our key inhouse developed Product for energy optimization and Voyage efficiency of our fleet. The Technical Project/Program Manager will lead and manage multiple projects, focusing on chartering activities, technical ship assessments, IoT hardware procurement and installation, and software integration. This role involves close collaboration with business teams, technical experts, external suppliers, and internal engineering teams. The manager is responsible for project updates, budget control, and communicating with senior leaders about project status, achievements, challenges, and opportunities. This role also includes working with product owners and business teams to evaluate new business cases and develop future roadmaps. Key Responsibilities: Manage project work streams, coordinating with business teams for chartering and commercial agreements. Oversee the technical assessment of ships by Maersk subject matter experts (SMEs). Collaborate with external IT hardware suppliers for procurement and shipping of IoT hardware with StarConnect applications. Work with internal engineering teams and SMEs for hardware installation on ships. Ensure integration and integrity of StarConnect software features and data flow. Report on project updates, manage cost and budget, and communicate with senior leaders. Collaborate with product owners, engineering, and business teams for new business case assessments and roadmap development. Use a data-driven approach for business case evaluation and stakeholder presentations. Requirements: Strong project management skills in complex environments, identifying and resolving challenges. Knowledge in energy efficiency, decarbonization, and technical aspects of chartered vessel operations (preferred but not a must) Proficiency in agile project management and data analytics for creating effective project plans and criteria. Proficiency in tools like MS Project, Excel, JIRA, Confluence, MIRO, and writing SQL queries to extract and analyse data Leadership skills aligned with Maersk’s core values. Undergraduate degree in Science, Engineering, or a technical field. A postgraduate degree in business, IT, or engineering is preferred. 8+ years of experience in product development, program management or management consulting. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels up to SVPs. We seek a candidate who demonstrates a balance of software engineering understanding, effective business acumen, and agile project management expertise.
