BACKGROUND
The Danish Institute for Human Rights (the Institute) is the national human rights institution in Denmark with a mandate to work internationally. The Institute is expanding its engagements in Eastern Europe, specifically in Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Armenia. We are seeking a full-time project manager based in Copenhagen, to support the management and implementation of these new activities.

The duty station is Copenhagen. The selected candidate must be permitted to work in Denmark. The position is a full-time position (37 hours per week) in accordance with the relevant Danish laws and staff guidelines. Salary is set in accordance with the Danish Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations, with the possibility to negotiate a qualification supplement.
Expected starting date: 1st June 2024.
The position is temporary and will terminate by 31st December 2025.

We are seeking a full-time project manager based in Copenhagen, to support the management and implementation of these new activities.
MAIN TASKS
As a full-time project manager, tasks will include:
- Managing a portfolio of projects in accordance with the Institute’s procedures for project management and administration, including budgeting and project monitoring.
- Contributing to the development of work plans, annual narrative and financial reports, and responsible for monitoring and evaluation of projects.
- Planning and execution of project activities, including coordination of logistical and administrative arrangements.
- Delivering a range of project administration tasks such as drafting MoUs, project contracts, terms of reference, etc.
- Ensuring coordination and communication with partners and other stakeholders in Eastern Europe to build relationships and support project implementation.
- A certain amount of travel to the region will be required.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Advanced university degree (Masters’ degree) in social sciences or a related field.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- At least 5 years of experience with project management/administration, stakeholder engagement and project implementation, including financial management.
- Experience in liaising and engaging with donors, international and regional organisations, national human rights institutions, civil society, private sector etc.
- Knowledge of the international human rights framework and experience of working with human rights related issues.
- Relevant professional country experience and contextual knowledge of Eastern Europe.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement, and other relevant languages will be considered an asset.
YOUR PERSONAL SKILLS
- A positive and dynamic personality.
- A team player with demonstrated experience of working in an international environment.
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills, including proven experience in developing partnerships. Prior experience of working with state partners will be considered an asset.
- Well organised, flexible, and able to work independently.
- Good at complying with procedures and in meeting deadlines.
