Vessel Systems Lead Offshore Power for Stillstrom

– A Maersk Venture Company

Location: Copenhagen or Aberdeen

Do you want to be part of a growth journey of a frontrunning venture backed by A.P. Møller Mærsk? Do you truly believe in the green transition of the maritime space? Then this is your chance to be part of building a new industry in the ocean clean-tech space

Stillstrom is at an exciting stage with a heavy focus on developing its core products. We work closely with the market and our end users both in offshore wind farms, and with vessel owners directly to charge all-electric vessels or power idle anchoring vessels. We are currently bringing the Stillstrom Offshore e-Charging concept to the offshore wind market.

We are now looking for an experienced Marine Systems Lead for Offshore Charging Products to become part of a revolutionary ocean cleantech journey. Stillstrom has embarked on an exciting journey to help decarbonise the maritime industry and build towards a clean ocean future.

The Product Development group at Stillstrom is at the heart of our innovative offshore power systems for future “green” anchorage areas. We seek talented individuals who can design operational systems to connect vessels to our offshore power solutions and understand the broader impact on vessel systems and operations across various vessel types.

We are looking for an experienced engineer and operational expert with the technical skills and drive to join our team and help advance Stillstrom’s mission. The role focuses on leading the development of connection and integration systems for vessels idling at anchorage areas. This includes guiding the process from conceptual thinking and detailed engineering to procurement and commissioning, as well as contributing to the overall development of new systems. You will work closely with other engineering leads to achieve these goals.

If you have the expertise and passion to drive the future of offshore power systems, we invite you to join our team and make a significant impact in the industry.

We offer an exciting role in an early-stage venture company owned by A.P. Moller Maersk with a dynamic and international team growing to ca. 20 colleagues. The Vessel System Lead Offshore Power will be part of the Stillstrom technical group and report to the Product Manager Offshore Power.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and implement solutions for integrating offshore power connections with vessel (electrical) systems and operations to support charging and/or idling on electrical load.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to taking connection systems tailored for maritime environments from ideation through to product design and first deployment.

  • Ensure compatibility and seamless integration of the power solution with various types of marine vessels, considering specific electrical and operational requirements. Also ensuring compliance with relevant maritime regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.

  • Work closely with port authorities and infrastructure teams to ensure the successful integration of offshore power systems into port environments.

  • Work closely with operational lead to ensure system integrates with vessel operations, including safety protocols and emergency procedures.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources effectively while maintaining associated documentation.

  • Implement and design field trials and pilot projects to validate system functionality in real-world maritime environments.

We are looking for:

  • Solid experience in marine operations and/or engineering, with focus on electrical infrastructure development and vessel systems.

  • Proven track record in integrating electrical power solutions with maritime vessels and port environments.

  • Experience in developing and implementing operational procedures for new and complex systems.

  • Experience in monitoring and optimizing system performance and operational efficiency.

  • In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements related to electrical systems.

  • Proven experience with project management and stakeholder management

  • Creative thinker with a proactive approach to identifying challenges and proposing innovative solutions.

  • Knowledge of trends, developments, and challenges within the maritime industry related to energy solutions, shore power and vessel charging initiatives

If this sounds like you, send us your application no later than August 20th
