BioInnovation Institute (BII) - a Novo Nordisk Foundation initiative - is looking for a new colleague, who will be responsible for building up a state-of-art Technology Platform as infrastructure available for start-ups in BII.
Founded in 2018, BII promotes collaborative, interdisciplinary, research-based innovation in the Life Sciences, and helps build viable start-up companies to ensure that such innovations become widely available for the benefit of human welfare and society.
BII has opened a new vibrant, collaborative workspace in Copenhagen bringing together entrepreneurial researchers and company creators from different disciplines. For the first three years of operation, the BII has been granted DKK 392 million by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
The Job
As Chief Technical Officer (CTO) in BII you will be responsible for the BII site, shaping the infrastructure and building up Technology Platforms available for everyone in BII. You must build up a team consisting of highly qualified technicians and scientist to operate the day-to-day tasks as well as foreseeing the needs alongside the development of BII. We expect you to easily take the role as negotiator as Danish Universities and companies that are partners of BII, and you will be responsible for establishing agreements with these, ensuring specialized infrastructure is available for our companies.
You will be a part of the already established management group and take part of the strategic development and management of the institute.

Your Profile
We imagine that you hold a Ph.D. within technical or natural sciences. Preferably you have experience from a start-up environment and/or Scientific Leadership experience at least Professor level. Besides Scientific Leadership experience you should have demonstrated experience with line management of staff scientists, research engineers and/or technicians.

- Building up at highly qualified and service minded team
- Be overall responsible for the BII facilities
- Make a strategy for building a top-level infrastructure that can support innovation
- Implement the strategy and establish a well functioning infrastructure
- Personnel management for a team of 5-8 employees
Your Profile
We imagine that you hold a Ph.D. within technical or natural sciences. Preferably you have experience from a start-up environment and/or Scientific Leadership experience at least Professor level.
