Do you want to be the key driver of strategy development for the Svitzer Leadership team? And are you a self-starter with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills? Then you could be our new Head of Strategy and Portfolio Management in Svitzer.
Svitzer is a global market leader providing towage and sustainable marine solutions to customers in 30+ countries across four regions. As a standalone company and as part of Maersk we have been providing safety and support at sea since 1833.
We are looking for a new colleague that will help us identify and shape key strategic projects, look for areas for optimization as well as assess existing pipeline to ensure continuous improvement and future growth of Svitzer.
With a direct reporting line to our CFO, you help setting the agenda by working closely with our Leadership team and CEO. We expect you to provide sublime support on strategic initiatives and to help us grow the great potential of the business. The team consists of one direct report but with a wide span of control through indirect leadership.
Strategy
• Plan and drive the strategic agenda with the Svitzer Leadership Team and ensure focus on agreed strategy by raising awareness
• Identify focus areas, facilitate discussion on strategic questions and support through analysis of key trends, customer, industry, market and competitive research
• Act as in-house venture partner, scouting and sourcing opportunities for future revenue streams outside existing business models and lead the process from idea concept to scaling for growth.
• Establish an external network of affiliates for inspiration on high-priority topics and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure success
Portfolio
• A key driver of M&A activities across the portfolio ensuring that the portfolio prioritisation matrix meets the strategic direction
• Ongoing assessment of portfolio fit and proactive identification of opportunities for further portfolio optimisation
• Regular interaction with stakeholders (internal and external) to uncover improvement and optimisation ideas
You are a self-starter and never hesitate to reach out proactively to stakeholders for inspiration to our strategic agenda. You communicate in manner that is aligned with company values and you are perceived as a trustworthy role model for Svitzer.
You might have a background as a consultant and possess strong facilitation skills for conducting workshops and presentations. Solid project management experience is also an advantage and 5-7 years of experience from a similar role.
Your analytical mindset sets high standards for performance not least your own, and you have a strong business acumen. You are a keen team player, easy-going and able to communicate at all levels of our organization. You embrace the challenge of a high degree of ambiguity and changing scope in your role.
