Head of Procurement Operations and Digital Support – Group Procurement in DFDS
DFDS is looking for a strategic and digitally strong person to take on the role as Head of Procurement Operations and Digital Support with the purpose of strengthening Group Procurement, adding an additional strategic resource and relevant focus to how we can enhance our procurement excellence journey within 3 key teams.
This role will be part of the Group Procurement management team, where the overall decisions are taken towards how Group Procurement should develop and continuously improve. There will in this role be a great influence in how the entire department moves towards procurement excellence and develops towards becoming a fully strategic integrated business partner.
Group Procurement is on a maturity journey, and the right candidate will have a critical role in driving the strategy within the above areas – ensuring that we develop and potentially increase coverage, responsibilities, utilization of current and new tools, and the value we deliver.
Your responsibility
The Head of Procurement Operations and Digital Support will have management responsibility of:
Operational Procurement (Today: 14 employees incl. 1 Operational Manager in DK having 10 direct reports and 1 team lead in Lithuania with 4 direct reports): Operational Procurement is responsible for the daily operations, primarily handling of purchase orders related to ensuring the supply to all DFDS owned vessels.
Compliance & CSR (Today: 1 Compliance Manager): Driving the agenda for compliance (especially towards marine legislation and requirements) and CSR in Group Procurement
Digital Procurement (Today: 2 Systems Procurement Analysts): Driving a long range of different projects; ERP system, Contract management system, Optimization/automation projects for P2P processes, KPI/dashboard preparation – working closely with strategic & operational teams.
You will be responsible for the overall strategy for each of these teams in collaboration with the VP of Group Procurement, the team managers and team members. More specifically, your responsibilities are:

Travel days
In order to perform to the expectations of the role you have to anticipate 15-25 travel days a year.

- Vision & Strategy for the 3 areas covered in this team with focus on continuous improvement
- Continuously review organizational set-up
- Driving process improvements and standardization
- Ensuring alignment and smooth cooperation with the other departments in Group Procurement
- Network building and awareness creation towards colleagues, peers and management
- Network building with external communities relevant to gain knowledge and inspiration in how to develop areas of responsibility within Group Procurement

- A minimum of 5 – 7 years relevant procurement experience.
- You hold a relevant academic degree (Master/Bachelor).
- You have experience with Procurement processes and systems
- You have experience with management through managers
- You have experience with Project management
