The job and main responsibilities
We are looking for the right candidate to take the direct managing role of the day-to-day biochemical operations of our laboratory team and be responsible for ensuring adequate training and maintain competences within the team. In addition, the role will also function as process development scientist functioning as daily supervisor and technical advisor within the upstream biochemical manufacturing processes at BluSense Diagnostics, including process transfer and validation of new IVD products. The function will also contribute to maintaining, improving and optimizing biochemical manufacturing/QC processes of existing IVD products. Ideally, the right candidate has worked within an ISO13485 quality management framework and has experience driving and managing deviations, change controls and CAPA handling.
You will become manager of our laboratory team in our production department, consisting of 6 highly dedicated and skilled laboratory technicians with several cross-functional tasks within research and development, process development and optimization, design transfer and biochemical manufacturing. The team is responsible for the daily upstream biochemical manufacturing and QC as well as maintenance and optimization of upstream biochemical processes and hence handling key elements of our diagnostic devices. In addition, the team also support product development team whose focus is on integration of the biochemical reagents onto our diagnostics cartridges.
Your main responsibility will be to handle the daily operations of the laboratory team and biochemical manufacturing activities in close collaboration with our downstream cartridge manufacturing team to make sure that we always deliver products of high quality.

Specific qualifications and skills:
- Ideally holds minimum a M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical engineering or similar education
- Experience with people managing, prioritizing and coordination of resources and tasks of own and employees work
- Experience with biochemical manufacturing and process development
- Ideally experience with ISO13485 and medical devices
- Experience with design transfer and/or process validation is an advantage but not a requirement
- Solid experience with standard biotech/biochemical laboratory techniques
- Fluent in English both verbal and written
- Solid computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Skills and Abilities:
- Structured and with the ability to keep a clear overview
- Solid knowledge of general biochemical laboratory techniques and processes
- Ability to organize and prioritize own and employees work
- Ability to monitor and trouble-shoot technical issues with a high degree of attention to details
- Able to maintain focus in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with colleagues
- Positive attitude with the capacity to be a good team player
