Vestas Legal, Risk & Compliance Global Risk Security

The Group Crisis Manager role is a Vestas Corporate Security position reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Security and Resilience. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the crisis management programme across Vestas. Your contribution will be essential to Vestas further strengthening our resilience.

You will use your expertise to influence management at all levels from the country or factory to Executive Management to ensure the creation and implementation of an effective crisis management system. Collaborating closely with the Regional Security and Crisis Managers you will support them in delivering effective crisis management. The nature of this role will require that you are willing to travel and operate out of office hours if required to manage a crisis. This may include during holidays and weekends.

Even though you will not have any direct reports you need to have great people skills to fulfil your main goals which are to:

  • Further develop and accelerate senior management support for crisis management as part of the wider programme to strengthen resilience in Vestas.
  • Build suitable stakeholder relationships at all levels to ensure that a mindset of crisis management and resilience becomes an integrated part of business activities


Responsibilities

  • Review and update the crisis management policy, standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training programme to deliver effective crisis management capability at all leadership levels
  • Design and implement suitable crisis management SOPs and tools across the business to ensure a common approach to crisis response globally
  • Design and deliver a crisis training programme to ensure suitable training and exercising to all levels of the Group from Executive Management down to country management and factory management levels
  • Develop a ‘lessons learnt’ process that generates effective learning and tracks agreed improvements to develop a culture of continuous improvement in crisis management and resilience
  • Monitor and assess global events to disseminate timely and relevant threat assessments and use these to raise potential risks that business leaders should factor into operational plans. All in alignment with the Regional COOs, and the Regional Security and Crisis Managers.
  • Ensure the integration of the Crisis Management programme with Corporate Communications to handle the media and external stakeholders
  • Align between Incident Management and Emergency Response and engage with QSE, Construction and factory management to develop an easy escalation from site level Emergency Response (ER) into a robust Incident Management (IM) capability for management. Ensure a clear understanding by the stakeholders of the differences between IM and ER
  • Develop and maintain a network of relevant industry contacts

Qualifications

  • Experience of designing and delivering crisis exercises ranging from simple desktops to full scope crisis exercises
  • Experience of delivering structured training to teams to improve performance
  • Experience of running corporate, government or military crisis situations in a role that was responsible for facilitating strategic decisions in a time of pressure on the executive leadership team
  • Experience of designing and implementing a global programme in a matrix environment
  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a multi-national company’s crisis management and corporate security organisation or at a crisis management consultancy
  • Proven experience of building relationships with and supporting executive management teams
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential
  • Willingness to travel when required and to operate out of office hours if required to manage a crisis. This may include during holidays and weekends

  • A clear communicator, both in spoken and written communications

Additional information
Primary work location is Copenhagen or Aarhus, Denmark. You should expect travelling days when necessary to manage crisis.
