Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is looking for an ambitious and talented “Solution to Displacement Platform lead to strengthen the global roll out of DRC’s Response Framework and its three programme platforms. The specific objective for the position will be to strengthen DRC’s work on Solution to Displacement, supporting the field in programme development, creating clarity of concepts, framing and deepening an organisational understanding of how to strengthen Solution to Displacement programmes and policies globally.

The position is part of the Programme Platform unit, which consists of the Solutions platform lead, Addressing Root Causes lead, two interns and a number of project positions. The position refers to the head of unit, and the position will in addition to the platform work, also have some cross-cutting responsibilities. Finally, the position will serve as project coordinator of the ERC Solution Project; a joint NRC, IRC and DRC project in support of cross regional learning on solution issues in East Africa, Middle East and CASWA.

About the job

The purpose of the Platform lead position is;

  • To strengthen DRC’s strategic programme development as per the DRC Response Framework, and provide proactive support to roll out the solution to displacement platform in the field
  • To develop, maintain and roll out global standards, policies and tools pertaining to the platform
  • Support the field in strengthen in the platform approach and quality of integrated programmes contributing to the platform goals
  • To strengthen the knowledge, motivation and capacity of staff, in order to operationalize and roll out the programme platform
  • To build partnerships and strengthen the programmatic profile and branding of DRC, and to strengthen advocacy on the solution to displacement platform
  • To strengthen evidence and learning on the platform approach and inform a wider research agenda

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have significant demonstrable experience in a relevant specialist position in international humanitarian and/or development organisation in a mix of field and HQ positions, and of developing, implementing and evaluating of humanitarian and/or development programming. You should furthermore have significant experience of developing and rolling out programmes that contribute to solutions to displacement; engaging with both field staff and other global partners; demonstrable experience with leading organizational change processes or projects, and of leading and/or managing organisational research exercises.

Other requirements for the position:

  • Social science degree in development or humanitarian studies, law, political science, sociology, human geography or similar.
  • Robust experience with programming, esp durable solutions programming.
  • Excellent and updated knowledge of policies, standards, tools and methodologies applied by projects in contexts relevant to the Solution to Displacement platform.
  • Excellent and updated knowledge of the development and humanitarian policy environment, with a particular emphasis on forced displacement issues.
  • Demonstrable skills with the design and facilitation of trainings and workshops.
  • Excellent communication skills for writing and presentation
  • Demonstrable abilities in problem solving as well as taking a flexible and innovative approach to working.
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently as part of a small team and to form close working relationships with colleagues from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Highly motivated and hard working with strong attention to detail.
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Ability to work in French an advantage
  • Able to travel for 30 to 45 days per year and operate in a physically demanding working environment.

We offer

Contract: Permanent, subject to funding

Work place: DRC headquarters at Borgergade 10, 1300 CPH K
